PUD-80-16-19D & 11M, Providian Bancorp <br />Application for development plan approval and a major modification to PUD-80-16 to <br />allow the construction of a three-story, 90,000-square-foot building on the Providian <br />Bancorp campus located at 4940 Johnson Drive. Zoning for the property is PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development) - I/C-O (Industrial/Commercial-Office) District. The <br />Planning Commission will also consider the negative declaration prepared for the project. <br /> <br />Continued to August 8, 2001. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />PCUP-33, Michael Denu <br />Application for a conditional use permit to establish a cocktail lounge in a portion of an <br />existing building located at 780 Main Street (formerly Coffee Roast Express). The <br />proposed hours of operation would be 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., seven days a week. The <br />proposal would also include karaoke on Wednesday nights and live music on Friday and <br />Saturday nights. Zoning for the property is C-C (Central Commercial), Downtown <br />Revitalization District. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Continued indefinitely. <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny advised that he agrees with Commissioner Arkin that he would like to <br />see as many of the PUD approvals that are being considered for rescission before the Planning <br />Commission as soon as possible, and that he would like them to be placed on the agenda when <br />there are not a lot of other items on the agenda. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny thanked Mr. Jost for the communication from Bill van Gelder regarding <br />the striping of Main Street near Del Valle Parkway. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Harvey regarding the continuance ofthe Providian <br />building, Mr. Pavan advised that staff is working with the applicant on traffic mitigation issues. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Arkin regarding the status of the Madden hotel <br />construction, Mr. Pavan advised that he would check with the project planner and report back to <br />the Commission.
