Presentation of Proclamation for Walk to School Day <br /> Councilmember McGovern read the Proclamation declaring October 5 — 8, 2010 as Walk to <br /> School Week. <br /> Lisa Adamos acknowledged all elementary schools and parent volunteers for making the Walk <br /> to School day commitment and for participating in and promoting the week's activities. The goal <br /> of the campaign is for parents and students to adopt these practices on a more permanent basis <br /> in order to promote healthy activities and reduce traffic at our schools. She described the <br /> program and thanked its sponsors. <br /> 11. Business Anniversary Recognition <br /> Economic Development Director Pamela Ott, made a brief presentation recognizing the 129 City <br /> businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries. <br /> 12. Public Comment <br /> Kathy Dowding read the names of the 30 American men and women killed in Iraq and <br /> Afghanistan since the last Council meeting.
