POPULATION AND HOUSING
Environmental Setting
The project site is located entirely within the I3ernal Property Specific Plan. There have
been four approved developments in this project's neighborhood: Bernal Corners Service
Station, City Fire Station No. 4, Pleasanton Apartments, Walnut Apartments, and the first
phase of construction of lighted sports fields on the City's parkland. The subject property
has been considered for some time as a desired location for commercial /office
development. The site is an infill site within the Specific Plan and its build -out as well as
the build -out of the overall Specific Plan does not constitute direct or indirect growth
inducing impacts for the City of Pleasanton
Standards of Significance
For purposes of this environmental document, an impact is considered significant if the
proposed project would:
• Induce substantial growth that is inconsistent with the approved land use plans in
place; and,
• Displace affordable housing.
Page 43 of 52 Pleasanton Gateway Initial Study August 2, 2010
