CULTURAL RESOURCES <br /> Environmental Setting <br /> The subject site is not located in an area identified as having any site - specific historical or <br /> geologic features or resources. <br /> The site was subject to a field investigation conducted in 1988 to determine the presence <br /> and extent of buried Native American resources. That field investigation identified an <br /> archaeological resource, designated as CA -Ala -554, in the approximate area east of 1 -680 <br /> near Bernal Avenue, with the presence of fire - altered rock, bone and shell fragments, <br /> flaked stone artifacts, and bird -bone tool remains. The 1988 field investigation was <br /> updated by the project applicant most recently in 2008.
