App. #1025 Community Resources for Independent Living <br /> Independent Housing Services for the Disabled <br /> Requested: $20,182 Recommended: $20,000 <br /> App. #1026 REACH Pleasanton Property Acquisition /Rehab <br /> Requested: $365,211 Recommended: $200,000 <br /> To be reviewed by the Housing Commission. <br /> Commissioner Rowland discussed with staff the City's outreach for projects that would fall under <br /> the Lower Income Housing Fund. He also advised that the Housing Commission had been <br /> holding onto funds to be able to make recommendations for eligible projects such as the <br /> Kottinger Place renovation. <br /> App. #1027 Child Care Links Community Services Project <br /> Requested: $30,000 Recommended: $20,000 <br /> Chairperson Kennedy discussed with Ms. Yurchak the nature and status of the contract between <br /> the City of Pleasanton and Child Care Links. She was informed that because of the economy, <br /> staff was asked to look at all existing service contracts and determine if there was a duplication <br /> of services being provided by the City and by any of these agencies. After reviewing the <br /> contracts it was decided not to renew the Child Care Links contract and put those funds back <br /> into the City Grant program to be available for application by any nonprofit agency that wishes to <br /> apply. <br /> Child Care Links representatives, Melissa Spann and Carol Thompson, provided information <br /> about the services and free workshops that the agency provides. <br /> Commissioner Rowland questioned what the impact was going to be to Child Care Links. She <br /> was informed that the change would impact the workshop and training programs that they <br /> provide. Ms. Thompson noted that with changes in the economy, groups are struggling and <br /> more collaboration between the groups will be taking place. Commissioner Rowland <br /> commended the agency for the great service they have provided to the community. <br /> Commissioner Nagler discussed with Ms. Thompson the contract that the agency has with Cal <br /> Works. <br /> App. #1028 Tri- Valley YMCA Adult Day Care Program Building Renovation <br /> Requested: $21,319 Recommended: $21,319 <br /> App. #1029 ECHO Housing Reverse Mortgage Counseling <br /> Requested: $6,915 Recommended: $6,500 <br /> Mr. Erickson advised that funding for this program will come from the Lower Housing Income <br /> Fund.
