App. #1007 Legal Assistance for Seniors Legal Services Education for Seniors <br /> Requested: $15,000 Recommended: $14,000 <br /> Commissioner Nagler discussed with staff their funding recommendation for this program. <br /> Commissioner Wilson felt that it fits with the 2 -1 -1 program that is helpful to seniors. <br /> App. #1008 East Bay Innovations Connect University <br /> Requested: $6,000 Recommended: $6,000 <br /> Commissioner Nagler noted that the funding recommendation for this program was the same for <br /> both the City of Pleasanton and the City of Livermore, but typically more people are served in <br /> Livermore. Ms. Yurchak provided information about collaboration of the program with RADD, <br /> which makes it a better value for Pleasanton residents. <br /> App. #1009 Abode Services Tri- Valley Housing Scholarship <br /> Requested: $34,400 Recommended: $25,000 <br /> Chairperson Kennedy discussed the fact that while funding for rent subsidies is sufficient for this <br /> program, there is a problem with the amount of time that the Case Manager can provide which is <br /> what the proposed funding would address. She felt this was a very good program. Mr. Erickson <br /> agreed with the comments. <br /> App. #1010 Easter Seals Bay Area Community Inclusion Group <br /> Requested: $10,000 Recommended: $5,000 <br /> Chairperson Kennedy questioned whether this project was similar to that being provided by The <br /> Arc and therefore providing duplicative services. <br /> Commissioner Rowland liked their creative approach to meet a community challenge with the <br /> HHSG grant. <br /> App. #1011 —Tri -City Health Center East County HIV Advocacy <br /> Requested: $20,000 Recommended: $15,000 <br /> Chairperson Kennedy discussed the possibility that there had been an issue with one of the <br /> reports from this agency. <br /> Commissioner Wilson felt the education provided by this program is beneficial and the City <br /> needs to continue to support it. <br /> App. #1012 Hope Hospice, Inc.
