What did you like about Youth in Government Day? (Continued)
The participation and importance I felt in the city for the day.
I liked the hands on material we went to the site of an actual persisting
issue within the city.
Great job shadow! Discussion group not too productive, but would
definitely do it again next year.
Very fun, exciting, great choice of job shadows. Entertaining but really
enriching.
It was interesting to see how our government works and how everyone
collaborates to make a fantastic city!
It definitely got us involved and it let us learn.
I learned a lot about how the city works with land and roads. I feel like I
understand better how the city works.
It truly was a great way to broaden my horizon.
Such a fascinating job shadow (parks and recreation).
I loved it; it truly was an amazing experience.
Great experience.
Better understanding of where city funding goes.
Best one ever!
Really cool things we got to discuss, p.m. discussion was a little hard to
relate to.
3. What would have made Youth in Government Day more successful?
Longer discussion in afternoon.
If we did more things.
I would've liked to have the day last longer.
Longer time in group discussion, maybe until 4:00.
More time with the shadow.
If we had more time to do the discussion group because it was helpful to
get our ideas out on how to improve PUSD.
Making sure everyone in the discussions gets a chance to say their
thoughts.
It would have been more successful if we had more time to discuss in the
PM group because a lot of people had more to input.
More discussion activities such as idea building activities.
Having more time to discuss and go over everything. Maybe even taking
two days for it. One for the job shadow and one for the discussion.
Nothing that I can think of.
More time to job shadow, PM discussion group unnecessary, dismiss after
lunch.
More fun (upbeat, moving, excitement).
Less group discussion; or more selectivity in choosing YIG applicants.
I wish I would have spent more time on site vs. following city engineer
which didn't have to do with law.
