What would have made Youth in Government Day more successful?
(Continued)
More time to job shadow.
An area for eating breakfast would have been better, so that one doesn't
feel embarrassed to go get more food if they are still hungry. The letter
did say to "come hungry".
Couldn't tell you that.
I think having a longer shadow part would have been more fun.
More interactions among the different students.
I would have made the discussion group more stimulating.
Even more job shadows.
Assigned seating at lunch so we ended up sitting with our job shadow.
If there had been more people we could shadow, and if it were longer!
More time (maybe make it longer).
More time shadowing.
Smaller groups.
Foods was amazing, but make lines faster.
Making the discussion groups more engaging; do this more often; maybe
not with government but also with other sectors of work.
I think if we played some games at the end of the day; but other than that,
it was really fun. I had a really great time here.
If we were able to spend more time with the people we shadowed and less
time listening to guest speakers.
I think finding jobs that kids are very passionate about and if they're not
interested in certain field, than educate them about it. Explain education
paths.
The discussion could be more centered on events /government actions
that directly affect us and our opinions on them so we can give feedback
on existing programs rather than talk about introducing new and vague
ideas.
Nothing, it is already a great program.
Everything was perfect.
I can't think of anything.
It was difficult to have my voice heard in group discussions (too large).
Two lines to get lunch food from.
Become more involved in government.
Everything was great.
More availability of choices since I couldn't shadow police /fireman, which
was my first choice.
Getting to discuss each others' job shadows a bit longer (students were
hanging out and talking).
More specific descriptions of jobs available, so that we could more
pinpoint our interest areas, even more hands on it's one thing to see
what people do; it's a whole different and better thing to do it yourself!
Nothing I would change at all.
