What did you like about Youth in Government Day? (Continued)
Everyone wanted to be here.
Learning about the various jobs within parks and rec and learning
background info /interesting facts about the Alviso Adobe, Firehouse Arts
Center, and Calippe.
I liked the attentiveness of all the staff and the amount they cared about
our futures /opinions.
Shadowing a job meeting new people discussions giving good input.
I got my first choice; I had all my questions answered, very friendly.
I enjoyed experiencing a field completely different than what I want to
major in or go into as a career. I enjoyed seeing the inner workings of the
school district/city government. I learned there's more to city government
than just "government" if that makes sense.
Meeting the people who help run our city, learning more about our local
government, good lunch, lots of interesting discussion and legislation to
discuss with my shadows, overall very good.
I liked how we got to spend time with our job shadow and learn about what
they do because it helped me learn so much more about what they do.
I liked further examining a career I may like to do in the future.
I liked how I got to see operation services because it's a hidden process
that not many people know about and I learned a lot from being introduced
to different fields behind our city's operation.
I learned more about my job shadow. Made me appreciate my community
more.
I liked YIG day because I learned how a city works. Also, I learned what I
will have to do in high school and college to work in a city government. I
also learned what will be the future for technology.
I liked my job shadow and all the fun stuff we did.
I got to learn about government jobs.
The city focused on the kids and our thoughts.
I liked that there were so many learning opportunities.
The time when we have a chance to just sit down and talk to our job
shadow on how they get to this point.
I got to meet the most important people in the city.
YIG was a good chance to see how our city operates and I really like that
youth get a say in government.
Showed us the inner workings of the city.
Taught a lot about the local government that I didn't know.
Hands on, complimentary food (which was good; thank you!), discussion
group, the awesome landscaper guy (I'm really bad with names) that
helped lead our group.
Mr. Lowell and his staff were fantastic, well spoken, and considerate. I
was touched that so many officials were willing to sacrifice their time to
spend with us. The food was superb and all attendees were courteous
and pleasant.
