What did you like about Youth in Government Day? (Continued)
I liked my shadow and how I was able to see the "behind the scenes" part
of government.
This is my third time in Y in G and I always love the chance to learn about
a new aspect of city government. Thank you so much to the city /district
officials who give up their day and those of you who coordinated this.
It gave me an opportunity to explore new careers and it was nice to be
able to see what actually goes on in Pleasanton through someone who
works on the inside.
Gave us the opportunity to give suggestions, allowed us to learn how the
city works.
I thought the discussion went really well and captured pretty much
everyone's idea. I noticed that the people we job shadowed worked really
hard to make our day interesting and it really was!
I like how we get to experience "a day in the life It's interesting to see
how passionate people are about their work and how it inspired me to do
something I'm passionate about, and the "money will follow
The experience and the sense of being respected and listened to.
I liked being able to learn and experience some of the jobs of our city
employees, and I learned of how important these jobs really are.
I liked my shadow. Overall, I liked everything about it.
Learn more about projects in the community.
I was able to see the application of concepts that I had been learning in
school to a real life vocation. Lunch was very good.
I really enjoyed seeing what our town has been putting into effect and
projects that are underway.
Being able to meet working, professional adults and understand city's
public service operations.
I liked learning about what a city attorney does.
Shadowing someone who does so much for the community and all of us
really was enriching. I know so much more about public service and it
was really career enriching.
It was a rare chance for students to get a look inside our local government
system and a fun learning experience.
I like how we got a day to just take a look around and be a part of our
community. We got to be in groups and have a break and explore and
learn for once without stress.
I enjoyed riding along with the firemen. They told me a lot of useful info
that I can use later.
I liked the job shadow portion and it was a lot of fun. The lunch was really
good and the group chat was good.
I liked learning about different careers and most importantly, how those
people got to where they are.
I enjoyed the hands -on experience YIG offered and learning and
conversing with people who work at the city government level.
