§2- 15.01.63. WASTEWATER shall have the same <br />meaning as the term Sewage. <br />§2- 15.01.64. WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT shall <br />mean the permit required of all Major Contributing Indus- <br />tries and available to other Users as provided in <br />Section 6.03. <br />§2- 15.01.65. WATER SOFTENER shall mean a unit <br />using the ion exchange process requiring sodium ion or <br />sodium chloride to regenerate the exchange bed. <br />§2- 15.01.66. ZONING ORDINANCE shall mean Title II, <br />Chapter 2, of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton. <br />ARTICLE 2 <br />GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />§2- 15.10.01. PURPOSE. The purpose of this Chapter <br />is to establish standards and conditions, and to provide <br />revenues, relating to the use and management of the Sewerage <br />System. It is further the purpose of this Chapter to estab- <br />lish uniform requirements for discharges into the Wastewater <br />collection and treatment system used jointly with other <br />public entities who are parties to the Joint Exercise of <br />Powers Agreement establishing and providing for the <br />Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency, a public <br />entity, and any successor thereto. This Chapter shall also <br />serve as a vehicle enabling the City to comply with and meet <br />applicable laws, regulations, standards and conditions <br />established by Federal and State law, or by agencies thereof <br />in implementation of such law. The City Council hereby <br />finds and declares that the health, safety and welfare of <br />the people of the City require the enactment of the <br />provisions of this Chapter. <br />§2- 15.10.02. SEWER CONNECTION MANDATORY. All <br />Premises generating Sewage shall be connected to the <br />Sewerage System except as provided pursuant to Section <br />2- 15.10.03. The maintenance and use of any means of Sewage <br />disposal except as provided in this Chapter shall be <br />unlawful and is hereby deemed to constitute a public <br />nuisance. <br />§2- 15.10.03. PRIVATE DISPOSAL OF SEWAGE. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful to construct any privy, <br />privy vault, septic tank, cesspool, holding tank or other <br />facility intended or used for the disposal of Sewage in any <br />manner other than through the Sewerage System unless <br />
