§2- 15.01.36_ The letters pH shall mean the <br />logarithm of the reciprocal of the weight of hydrogen ions <br />in grams per liter of solution. <br />§2- 15.01.37. POLLUTE shall mean to alter the <br />quality of water by intentional or unintentional means that <br />render it less usable or unusable for any beneficial use or <br />prohibit it from being safely discharged to surface waters <br />or to storm drains. <br />§2- 15.01.38. PREMISES shall mean any lot, parcel <br />of land, building or establishment. <br />§2- 15.01.39. PRETREATMENT shall mean the use o£ <br />any works or device for treatment, alteration, control, or <br />flow limitation of sewage or Industrial Waste, prior to <br />discharge into the Sewerage System. <br />§2- 15.01.40. REGIONAL COSTS shall mean costs which <br />are shared by the City and District in accordance with the <br />cost of providing service for each agency, including all <br />Wastewater treatment costs incurred by the District. <br />§2- 15.01.41. RESIDENTIAL DISCHARGE EQUIVALENCY <br />(RDE) shall mean a Sewage discharge equal in Volume and <br />strength to the discharge from a typical Single Family <br />Dwelling. The same shall be two hundred eighty (280) <br />gallons per day flow from all units constructed prior to <br />1979, and two hundred twenty (220) gallons per day for all <br />units constructed after January 1, 1979, five thousand five <br />hundred thirty -four ten thousandths (0.5534) pounds per day <br />of BOD, and four thousand seventy -six ten thousandths <br />(0.4076) pounds per day of SS. It shall also be assumed <br />that one RIDE is equivalent to the Volume typically <br />discharged from a group of plumbing fixtures equalling <br />twenty -one (21) fixture units as said units are defined and <br />employed in the Uniform Plumbing Code for the sizing of <br />Wastewater piping, unless supporting discharge data proves <br />otherwise. <br />§2- 15.01.42. RESIDENTIAL USER shall mean any User <br />introducing into the Sewerage System Sanitary Sewage from a <br />single family dwelling, or from a single unit of a multiple <br />family dwelling. <br />§2- 15.01.43. SANITARY SEWAGE shall mean Wastewater <br />containing only human excrement and sanitary and household <br />wastes derived from dwellings or other places of abode, <br />institutions, restaurants, and restrooms, locker rooms, <br />showers, and washrooms of commercial and industrial <br />Premises_ <br />S. -C i t yD rimf t <br />Ap2-A- <br />
