J. <br />610 Main St. <br />Pleasanton, Calif. <br />Before dec7a ring a recess for the auditing of the claims and the officers, <br />reports, the Council .heard a discussion from Mr. Thayer, City Engineer of San <br />Leandro and Fred Schaer, Construction foreman on S.E.R.A. projects in San Leandro. <br />Mr. Schaer in particular, discussed the work that has been in progress .there .Pot? <br />the last few weeks, and how San Leandro has been al3le to carry on the work <br />and the expense involved. He further discussed the rate of 20V per foot, being <br />charged. At the conclusion of his remarks, he expressed a willingness to be of <br />assistance to the munic ipalit� if he was. needed. Mr. Ofloff, £6r the Council, <br />thanked Mr. Schaier for the information which he gave the Council and also to <br />him for bringing Mr. Thayer along with him and,thus giving further assistance <br />to the outlining of a proposed curb and gutter proposition for Pleasanton. <br />A recess followed during which the finance committee examined Claims No. <br />298 to X36 'inclusive and amounting to $568.38, as well as the officer's monthly <br />reports. Following the recess, after which the meeting had been called b:) order <br />again, Councilman Rivolta of the finance committee, reported that the committee <br />had approved Claims No. 298 to 336 inclusive. He also reported that the fianance <br />committee had approved the officers' monthly reports and he.made a motion that <br />they be placed on file. His motion was seconded by Councilman Madsen. <br />Action on the communications were then taken as follows: <br />January 9th -- American Legion Auxiliary. Filed. <br />-- Constitutional Eights Association, referred to City Attorney. <br />- -City of Albany, referred to City Attorney. <br />January 29th-- E.O.Iv1cCormiek;- the Clerk was instructed to advise him that the <br />Council had no objection to the operetta being produced and the <br />required permit given. <br />February 4th -- Herman Kolln, the Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Kolln and <br />advise him that the Council will investigate the condition of <br />the Lawrence property. <br />The liquor licenses issued by the State Board of Equalization were given <br />the official O.K. of the Council with the exception of the one of Frank Lewis. <br />Councilman Amaral thought best that Mr. Lewis be advised of the requirements <br />of the municipality and of the State Board of Equalization and of his own <br />conduct in his place of business and advised that he would speak to Ilr. Lewis <br />concerning same. The Clerk was instructed to write the State Board of Equalization <br />with reference to the licesm6s which had been O.K.'d. The Clerk then addressed <br />the Council relative to restaurant licenses within the municipality and the <br />responsibility of the Council as regards there being issued in the future. He <br />stated the action Which the State bard of Equalization- intended to take in the <br />
