Hartzell, <br />649 Main Street, F -1022 <br />Pleasanton, Calif . <br />There_i.were.no objections from the Council to the Board issuing these <br />licenses, and the Clerk was instructed to advise the Board. The Clerk also <br />read the application of Karl Bieler and William Doolan for an "On Sale" <br />Beer and Nine license and reported to the Council that certain matters <br />incident to the issuing of this license had come up and that he had recommended <br />to the State Board of Equalization that the license not be granted. The Council <br />was in accord with the Clerk's actions in the matter. <br />Councilman Amaral spoke with reference to liquor dealers in the community <br />selling to minors and'drew the attention of the Council to the fact that some <br />of them were not licensed and were bootlegging. He recommended that warning <br />be sounded so that all concerned would understand that the Council would not <br />tolerate any such action and that proceedingswould be instituted to stop same. <br />A general discussion among the Councilmen followed with the various council- <br />men giving their impressions of what should be done to curb such practice. <br />Councilman Rivolta recommended that the officers be on the alert and report <br />what had taken place to the Council in order that the necessary action should•, <br />be taken. Councilman Amaral discussed hiring a "stool- pigeon" to watch what <br />was going on. Councilman Madsen felt that the officers should be very much <br />on the job and the Councilmen Olesen and Orloff were also in accord with the <br />other Councilmen that something should be done. On motion of Councilman <br />Rivolta seconded by Councilman Olesen and with all the Councilmen in favor <br />of same, it was moved that the necessary warning should be published and <br />advice given that all cases reported would be handled accordingly. The Clerk <br />was instructed to arrange for such notices. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:30 o'clock <br />to meet in regular session, Monday evening,'Februa 4th. <br />Approved: Clerk <br />Mayor <br />Pleasanton, California, February 4, 1935. <br />The Town Council 'of the `.Down of Pleasanton was called to order at 7:30 <br />P.M. on the above written date by Mayor Thomas Orloff.
