November 6th -- Bertha S. Oneil, requesting permission to connect her ranch property <br />with the city sewer:. <br />A recess followed during which the finance committee examined cliaims No. 164 <br />to 207 inclusvie and amounting to $734.83, as well as the officers monthly rEp orts. <br />Following the recess after the meeting had been called to order again Council- <br />man Madsen, of the finance committee reported that the committee had approved <br />Claims No.164 to 207 inclusive and amounting to 6734.83 and corrected claim No. 113 <br />for '36.07 of the Pleasanton Electric Company. On his motion seconded by Counc il- <br />mag Garatti and with all present in favor of same all the claims were ordered <br />paid. Councilman 1t'7adsen then reported that the finance committee had approved <br />the officers monthly reports and he made a motion to the effect that they <br />be placed on file. There being no objections same were ordered filed. J <br />Actions on the communications received was then taken as follows: <br />October 14th -- Ashton Britten, filed. <br />October 17th- -State Compensation Insurance Fund, the Clerk was instructed t o fpm the r <br />"0 advise it that the name of Charles Viada should be added to the list. <br />October 20th -- Communication of Dr. Church etas given considerable attention. Mr. <br />Madsen took the occasion to e:xplain what he had been doing to assist <br />Mr. Adamian in getting a new location. Also that it had been advisable <br />that Mr. Adamian secure property where he could dig a deep trench <br />and thus dispose of the garbagE::. This Mr. Adamian was willing to do <br />providing the City, Council could secure the land. Mayor Pickard <br />suggested that a trench be dug in the lower end of the sewer farm <br />and Mr. Adamian be allowed to dump the garbage there. Both Councilmen <br />Garatti and Councilman Madsen towexception to this because they felt <br />that in the wet weather it would be almost impossible $)r Mr. Adamian <br />to get on to the land. Discussion then arose with regards to securing <br />the garbage man from Livermore to.-again take over the work -if hIr. <br />Adamian was unable to handle same. It was finally decided that <br />Councilman Garatti should look into the matter with the party at <br />Livermore. <br />October 21st- -Miss Pauline Kruse of the Pleasanton Farm Home Department. The Mayor <br />reported that the drinking fountain had been installed by Messrs. <br />Rodrigues and Sinclair at the Ilckinley Park. Following some <br />discussion it was decided that same should be disconnected during <br />the winter season in order that it would not be damaged. The Clerk <br />was instructed to write to the :Farm Home Department and' expi7ess <br />the appreciation of the municipality for the donation of the <br />drinking .fountain. <br />October 25th- -Smith Bros. ,It was decided not to procure a set of these codes <br />at this time as Attorney Nilson had procured one which he was <br />willing to allow the municipal. officers to use. <br />November 6th- -Mrs. Bertha ONeil-- Following a short discussion of this communication <br />Mrs. Oneil was granted permission to connect with the City sewer <br />providing she was willing to pay the fee required by the ToN n Ordin- <br />ance of X10.00. Discussion further followed concerning a fee,,being <br />paid by Lirs . Oneil on the house occupied by Mr . - Sharer aryl which <br />was connected with the sewer and upon which no fee had ever been <br />paid. It was decided that Mrs. Oneil should be notified and <br />arrangements should. be made between she and the Clerk for the paying <br />of this fee as of the year 1933. <br />The Clerk then present a letter which accompanied the Health Office2s report and <br />which had been written by the Health Officer to Mr.' Holdon, manager of the Plaasanton <br />race track as of October 3rd and directing Mr. Holdon's attention tollhe unsanitary <br />conditions prevailing at the Pleasanton race track and the measures necessary for <br />their correction. Mayor Pickard referred to a visit which he had made to the track <br />and a call on the manager. Also the visits of Dr. Heinz were discussed. It was <br />decided that the matter should .again be taken up by Dr. Heinz with Ivir. Holdon and <br />if no satisfaction was given that the clerk should write to Mr. Heathcote of San <br />Francisco,who is directly in charge of the affairs of the track and that a report <br />be made to him of what had taken place locally and that a copy of the letter <br />written by Dr. Heinz to IvTr. Mr. <br />Nilson answered Mr. Madsen to the effect that-he understood that the matter wouldA4&&o%wd <br />rest as it was, following the discussion which took place after the ordinance <br />had been given its second reading at the October meeting..
