<br />The Clerk also presented Claim No. 113 -- Pleasanton Electric Company for
<br />$36.07 which had been held over from previous meetings and which had been corrected
<br />from the original bill of $46.07.
<br />These claims were referred to the Fi.narn e Committee for audit and report.
<br />The Clerk then read the following reports of the municipal officers:
<br />Water Department:-- ShoN,wing that water had been turned on at 1 place and off at 5
<br />places. _ °ut in tap for Mrs. Berie, repaired 8 meters, completed ,ponch at the sewer
<br />farm, laid outfall pipe and all connections at the sewer farm. Report showed that
<br />there were 401 taps in Town and 33 outside of town; that there were 469 sergices
<br />in Town (On 441) Off 28; That there were 42 services outside of tan n (On 41, Off 1) -,
<br />with a total, of 511 services. The report showed that the expenses were X492.28 and
<br />the income X939.10, and the total over and above expenses were $4446.82. The report
<br />showed that the total hours pumping at Pump No. 2 was 8 and total hours pumping at
<br />Pump No. 1, 165 hours. The total number of gallons of water pumped at Pump I -o. 1,
<br />4,927,600 and Pump No. 2, 200,000 gallons.
<br />Town Clerk : -- Showing that he had delivere6 to the Marshal water bills amounting to
<br />§1139.45. report shoved that the 'Treasurer had on ''hand at the time of last report
<br />X4677.49, and since then the following collections have been made: Licenses from
<br />Marshal, $156.00; Taxes from Marshal: 1931 -32 taxes $20.98; 1932 -33 taxes $9.76;
<br />1933 -34 taxes X1909.60, Water from Marshal $949.90, Milk Inspection Fees $33.38,
<br />Water from Alameda County $11.55; Recorder's Court $20.00; From Toun Clerk: Per.
<br />Prop. Taxes $59.90, Dance Fees $5.00, Bank of America Interest $16.36, making a
<br />total of $7869.92, less amount of warrants issued October 2n, 1933 $1511.87, leaving
<br />a cash balance in the hands of the Treasurer of $6358.05. This .was .divided as
<br />follo7is: General Fund $4129.15, Water Bond Fund $502.4 ; Town Hall Bond Fund
<br />$154.98; Municipal improvement Bond Fund 4.582.79, 1939 Municipal Improvement
<br />Bond Fund $988.62.
<br />Silperintendent of Streets: -- Showing that work on streets had - amounted to $103.25
<br />• during the month of October, 1933.
<br />Town Marshal: -- Showing that he had received water bills from the Clerk amourt ing
<br />to X1139.45; that he collected water bills amounting to $949.90, and that hs had
<br />returned water bills amounting to $189.55. He also collected licenses amounting
<br />to $156.00 as follows: 9 Licenses © $12.00 -- $108.00, 3 licenses At $16.00 -- $48.00.
<br />He also collected Milk Inspection Zees of $33.38. Also taxes amounting to $1940.34.
<br />Treasurer: -- Showing that he had cash on hand at last report of $4677.49 and since
<br />hen collections had amounted to $3192.43 and that payment of town warrants
<br />had amounted to $1511.87, leaving a cash balance of $6358.05.
<br />City Judge: -- Showing that he had collected fines amounting to $20.00 during the
<br />month of October, 1933.
<br />Health Officer: -- Showing activities for the month of October, 1933. Also copy of
<br />letter sent to the manager of the Race Track regarding the unsanitary conditions
<br />prevailing there.
<br />Fire Chief -- Report of the activities of the Department for the. month of October, 1933.
<br />Building Inspector: - - Showing that three building permi.ts had been granted during
<br />the month of tDetober. Also one electrical permit.
<br />The reports were referred to the finance committee four examination and repot.
<br />The following communications were then read by the Clerk:
<br />October 14th -- Ashton Britten Laboratory concerning the pump on the incubator: going
<br />out -of -order September 28th.
<br />October 17th- -State Compensation Insurance Fund, regarding end osement to b,e placed
<br />on policy concerning firemen.
<br />October 20th - -Dr. I. 0. Church, County Health Officer,concerning permit of Mr. Steve
<br />Adamian for dumping garbage and complaint to same.
<br />October 21st - -Miss Pauline Kruse, chairman of the Pleasanton Farm Home Departme.rt
<br />,with regards to the. drinking fountain donated by the Department t:)-
<br />McKinley Park and :jqhe placing,- -- of same.
<br />October 2 5th -- Smith Bros., advising that the new Lake Codes with complete changes
<br />from -the 1933 Legislative ,-Session were ready for distribution and thathe
<br />four codes ingthvre�`vo'lumes were selling for $10.00 per set.
