ro <br />e <br />situation of compensation insurance on the firemen while working in Pleasanton <br />and outside the city limits -and he queried the city attorney as to whether <br />the firemen' are covered by insurance when they are outside the city limits. <br />Mr. Nilson advised that outside the town'limits the town was not liable. Mr. <br />Apperson again revived the formation of a fire district for the district <br />outside the city limits. He mentioned that it was too late for anything to <br />be done at this time because same would have to be included in th annual <br />budget of the Board of Supervisors, but he spoke on the matter J e ,stated <br />in'order that it might be developed prior to next spring. <br />There were a number of visitors in the audience and 04ayor `Pickard called <br />on them for a few remarks. Jens P. Sorensen complimented the city council on <br />its work. Miss I'dadeline Jacobsen, class teacher in civil government at the <br />high school who was present with members of her class, made a few remarks. Mr. <br />Letham, former Clerk, was also present ando' called upon but he had nothing to <br />say.. Lee Wells, brought up the necessity of stop signs °in the vicinity of the <br />Presbterian Church on Second Street. He drew attention to the fact of speeding <br />along Second Street and 6&D endangering the lives of the school children, <br />who pass along that street. lie made a mention that stop signs would go- °a <br />long way toward improving conditions. Mr. Olson also took up ldr. Wells' <br />suggestion and augmented what he had to say. Councilman Garatti then answered <br />Mr. Wells and Mr. Olson to the effect that if'stop signs were to be installed <br />that Second Street would have to be designated as a highway. Some discussion <br />followed among the council members and it was unanimous that action should <br />be taken toward regulating traffic on Second Street. <br />There being no further business before the Council the meeting adjourned <br />at 10:20 o'clock to meet in regular session November 6th, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Approved: <br />� / /' d d �� <br />M4 <br />HVAWIJD�J, <br />Pleasanton, California, November 6, 1933. <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order at 7 :30 o'clock <br />on the above written date with Mayor A. B. Pickard presiding.
