1061 <br />January 1, 1934 -- Pacific Gas & -�'lectric-Company, contract for street lights for <br />1934. <br />a <br />January 2, 1934- -Miss Helen Kolln, complaining against parties in her neighbor- <br />hood disturbing the quiet of the neighborhood in the early <br />morning hours. <br />January 2, 1934 - -Mrs. Carrie Gunn, complaining against the continual annoyance <br />of children playing with skooters and wagons in front of her <br />house. <br />There were no petitions presented to the Council. <br />Mrs. Mary Stovall, Mrs. A.-B. Pickard, Mrs.Charels A. Bruce, Mrs. Albert <br />K. Zwisler appeared before the Council in behalf of the Womens Improvement Club. <br />Mrs. Stovall acted as spokesman for the group and discussed the clubs, anxiousness <br />to plant further trees along the streets of the municipality providing the Council <br />was willing to plant the trees and later insure their care. The Council after <br />a short discussion expressed its willingness to plant the trees and later. to <br />care for them. Mrs. Stovall expressed the willingness of the Club to plant the <br />kind of trees that the Council would' suggest or those which the property owners <br />desired and also in such locationsas was desired. Mayor Pickard spoke for the <br />Council, thanking the club members for their willingness to carry on the tree - <br />planting project of the municipality and told the _ladies; that they would hear <br />further from the municipality. <br />A recess followed during which.the finance committee examined C]ai.ms No. <br />258 to 296 inclusive and amounting to $566.12,as well as'the officers' monthly <br />reports. <br />Following the recess after the meeting had been called to order again <br />Councilman Apperson of the Finance Committee reported that the committee had <br />examined and approved Claims No. 258 to 296 and amounting to '$566.12. On his <br />motion seconded by Councilman Madsen and with all present in favor of same <br />the claims *were ordered paid. Councilman Apperson then reported that the <br />finance committee had approved the officers monthly reports and he made a <br />motion to the affect that they be placed on file. There being no objections <br />same were ordered filed. <br />Action on the communications received were then taken as follows: <br />December 16th -- League of California Municipalities. Filed. <br />13th - -tip'. S. Darley Co. The Clerk then read the letter a second time <br />after which he presented the regulation fire coat and slicker <br />hat which had been received on approval. There was a general <br />inspection of the two articles and it was agreed among the <br />Council members that same was satisfactory, and that eight <br />coats and 8 hats as well as three lanterns should be ordered <br />by the clerk at an early date. Also that the coats should be <br />numbered and stamped wi -th the name of the Town of Pleasanton <br />on the back between the shoulders of each coat. This was <br />ordered on motion of Councilman Apperson, seconded by Council- <br />man Orloff and with all present voting in favor of same. - <br />December 28th- -State Board of Equalization. The Council had no objections <br />to the Board of Equalization issuing the following licenses. <br />On motion of Councilman-Orloff seconded by Councilman Apperson <br />and vtth all present voting in favor of same the clerk was <br />instructed to write to the State Board of Equalization to the <br />affect. The applications considered were: <br />"Medical Alcohol License" - F. E. Hartzell, 649 Main St. <br />"On Sale" Beer and Wine License -- A. D. Irwin, 725 Main St. <br />"Industrial Alcohol License "(under 5 gal.) -- F. E.,Hartzell 469 Main St. <br />"Off Saleff Beer and Nine License -- Crawford Letham, 465 Main St. <br />December 29th -- Ashton Britten -- Filed. <br />January 1, 1.934 -- Bertha S. Oneil -- Filed. <br />January 2, 1934 -- Contract of Pacific Gas & Electric Company was referred to Council- <br />man Garatti and Superintendent, of Streets, M. M.
