W. <br />the license for which they had made a request. The motion was seconded by Council- <br />man Madsen with all present voting in favor of same. <br />Discussion followed among the Council members with regards to painting the <br />name of the streets,within the municipality,on the curb and on special streets <br />where the curb was available. It was generally felt among the Councilmem that in <br />addition to the present street signs that it would be very helpful to do this <br />additional work and same was taken under advisement.. Councilman Garatti then <br />spoke with regards to curb and gutter being put in along the Holzreiter property <br />on Pleasanton Avenue. He mentioned that property owners in the vicinity of this <br />property had again spoken to him -on account of recent rains.because a lot of water <br />had remained along Pleasanton Avenue which would have been carried away had the <br />proper gutter be in,place. Mr. Garatti mentioned that on a previous occasion he <br />had spoken to Mr. Holareiter with regards to this matter and that he promised <br />to do something about it. The.clerk was instructed to correspond with Mr.. <br />Holzreiter and to advise him that the necessary proceedings would be started <br />unless he complied with the wishes of the Council. <br />Councilman Apperson spoke with regards to another light being installed in <br />the vicinity of the Veterans' Memorial Building. He pointed out that along <br />Bernal Avenue it was unusually dark and that there had been some complaints <br />with regards to why further lighting wasn't available in that section. Also <br />he spoke with regards to a light at the Fire House which was discussed on a <br />previous occasion. Councilman Garatti assured Mr. Apperson that both matters <br />would be looked into at an early date and new lights placed. <br />The Clerk then took up the matter of Bakery Lunch Licenses. He pointed out . <br />that some of the licenses which had expired in June were renewed but that the <br />business places concerned were reluctant about paying the license fee becazse� <br />last spring they had started agitation to incorporate that license in the " <br />business. The clerk mentioned that there was some anxiousness on the part of the <br />.Marshal and he to get something done about these license before the first of the <br />year. After a.discussion among the Councilmembers on motion of Councilman <br />Madsen seconded by Councilman Orloff and with all in favor of same License No. <br />12 and License No. 15, the bakery lunch licenses of Joe Passeggi and John Ratti <br />were ordered cancelled. <br />Councilman Garatti spoke with <br />program and asked if any advise had <br />applications had been accepted or n <br />no advice concerning then from the <br />to Oakland. the following day to see <br />same . <br />regards to the Civil Works Administration <br />been received as to. whether the local project <br />Dt. The Clerk advised-him-that there had been <br />Oakland office but that he was planning to go <br />Mr. Thompson, the Director with regards to <br />There bing no further business the meeting adj <br />meet in regular session, Tuesday evening, *nuary 2, <br />Approved: <br />d at 8:15 o'clock to <br />• <br />er <br />Pleasanton, California, December 18, 1933. <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order in special <br />session at 7:30 p.m. on the above written date with Mayor A.B.Pickard presiding. <br />Present at roll call were Councilman Madsen, Orloff and Pickard, and Absent: <br />Councilmen Apperson and Garatti. <br />The Clerk then read another letter received from the State Board of Equalization <br />of Sacramento and containing further applications for Liquor Licenses. The following <br />"Off Sale" applications were then read: <br />Frank Garatti; 124 St: John St. Pleasanton, <br />Fiorio & Vizzolini, 31 Rose Ave. <br />Modern Food Company <br />The following "On Sale" applications were then read: <br />Jimmie George, 350 Main street, <br />Albert L. Johnson, 511 Main street <br />41'1"6 <br />The following*Winery License„ was then read: <br />Frank Garatti, 124 St: J�oGh�,St. <br />The following "Off Sale" license,�or liquor other than Beer or Wine was read: <br />Fiorio & Vizzolini, 31 Rose Avenue. <br />
