He recommended that the Fordson Scraper be <br />sold for the 415.00 offered. The sale was approved on motion of <br />Councilman Oxsen, seconded by Councilman Brenner and approved by <br />all Councilmen present. The Council also approved the requested <br />removal of two old Pepper trees iti front of the Mattos Silva <br />property on 2nd street at Spring Street. <br />FIRE CHIEF AMARAL explained that the fire hazard survey he and <br />the Building Inspector had made had disclosed some minor infrac- <br />tions of fire regulations .which the operators had agreed to <br />correct. He requested that the Council pay a bill of 4315.30 for <br />fire fighting clothing purchased by the Fire Dept., and that two <br />Town employees be made available to the Fire Dept. when needed. <br />Consideration of the clothing bill was tabled until Councilman <br />Hansen could be present. The use of two Street Dept. employees <br />for fire service was approved. <br />FORMER SUPT. OF STREETS FREDRICKSEN asked for an explanation of <br />complaints against the Street Dept. Councilman Oxsen gave an <br />explanation of the complaints. <br />MAYOR TRIMINGHAM requested further information from the Fire <br />Chief as to the status of the GMC fire truck and the recently <br />acquired piece of County equipment. Chief Amaral explained that <br />the GMC was in need of an overhaul and that the Township funds <br />would normally have been used for this purpose. The Township <br />had requested aid from the County and had been given a piece of <br />County equipment which turned out to be not too good. All repairs <br />to the GMC would be paid from Township funds and not by the Town. <br />The County truck is registered to the County, is insured by the <br />County and Pleasanton firemen using it on out of Town fires act <br />as County employees. <br />COUNCILMAN MEZZA arrived at the meeting at this point, 9:40 P.M. <br />ON MOTION of Councilman Oxsen, seconded by Councilman Brenner, <br />an ,O. approved by all Councilmen present, it was agreed that the <br />County be allowed to house the fire truck in the Pleasanton Fire <br />House subject to the pleasure of the Council. The Clerk was in- <br />structed to so advise County Fire Warden McGlinehey and to request <br />further information as to ownership and insurance coverage. <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES: Councilman Mezza reported that E. B. Stone & <br />Son ha'd cleaned the large sump at the Sewer Farm but the smaller <br />one was too wet due to apparent leakage from the tank. He also <br />reported that 450'feet of 4" pipe for Pleasanton Ave. had arrived, <br />that the pipe pusher had arrived and that 250 ft. of sewer rod had <br />been ordered. He advised that the new.-sewer manhole on Ray St.. <br />was completed but that the additional sewer rod and a cutting tool <br />was required to open some 30 ft. of the sewer. Mr. Englehart of <br />the Maslow Cooperage Co., requested permission for his Company to <br />get the" sewer cleared. This permission was granted by the Council. <br />- ORDINANCE <br />Avenue to <br />motion of <br />proved by <br />NO. 199 authorizing the transfer of a portion of Pleasanton <br />the County was given a second reading and was adopted on <br />Councilman Oxsen, seconded by Councilman Mezza and ap- <br />the following vote: <br />Aye: Councilmen Brenner, Oxsen, Mezza, Trim:ngham <br />No: None <br />Absent: Councilman Hansen <br />THE CLERK was instructed to bill water users on the Sunol Pipe line <br />for all water passing' thru the master meter at the City Limits. <br />The Clerk was also instructed to contact Mr. Saunders of the P.G. & E. <br />Co. relative to any wiring charges required at the Fire House in <br />order to consolidage meter billings on a lower rate schedule. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1941 authorizing payment of bond interest and redemp- <br />tion in the amount of 32,540.00 was approved on motion of Councilman <br />Brenner, seconded by Councilman Mezza and approved by all Councilmen <br />present. <br />
