Co. report on Schneider <br />claim. <br />Renewal of Comprehensive Liability4 <br />and Bond. <br />Unable to replace 600 ft. of fire <br />hose. <br />Payment of gas franchise. <br />Annual report for 1946. <br />Report on hotel & rooming house <br />compliance with fire regulations. <br />Survey on Fire House Power rates. <br />Application for permission to hold a dance on the night of <br />April 19, 1947, was received from the Druid's Circle. <br />RECESS was ordered for examination of Claims and Reports. <br />ACTION ON CLAIMS: The meeting was again called to order and on motion <br />of Councilman Brenner, seconded by Councilman Oxsen and approved by <br />all Councilmen present, it was ordered that Claims Nos. 603 to 642 <br />inoi., amounting to 44,860.44 be paid as presented. <br />ACTION ON REPORTS: All Officers' reports were approved and ordered <br />filed. - <br />ACTION ON PETITIONS: Application of the Druid's Circle to hold a dance <br />on April 19 was approved on motion of Councilman Brenner, seconded <br />by Councilman Oxsen and approved by all Councilmen present, <br />THE MAYOR then called on Mr. George Hansen who requested that the <br />Council adopt a Resolution favoring development and year round recre- <br />ational use of the Alameda County Fair Grounds.. The matter was <br />tabled to be considered at a later meeting when the Council members <br />could all be present. <br />MR. ENGLEHART of the Maslow Cooperage Co. suggestedw gat his Company <br />be allowed to clean out the sewer on Ray Street. He7requested to <br />bring this question up later in the meeting when Councilman Mezza <br />would be present. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />LAWS AND JUDICIARY: Councilman Brenner advised that he had nothing <br />to report. <br />STREETS AND BUILDINGS: Councilman Oxsen reported that Supt.of <br />Streets Fredricksen was no longer With the Street Dept., and that <br />Joe Medeiros was handling. the work alone for the present. He recom- <br />mended that another man be employed and that Medeiros be made Supt. <br />of Streets. The matter was postponed until all members of the Council, <br />could be present at a meeting. Councilman Oxsen a is o reported that <br />Pete Madsen would start on the reciatted work at the Frudden Store <br />
