LASSEN;'thanked the Council for'their time courtesies. assured the Council <br />that he would be available at any time to discuss any of the problems whenever <br />the Council was desired. <br />MAYOR OXSEN, thanked Mr. Lassen Mr. Moore for coming before the Council stat- <br />ing their plans as the Council had heard many conflicting rumors, and assured <br />Mr. Lassen, that the Council would cooperate in every way possible. <br />MAYOR OXSEN called on Ralph Hitch: <br />MR. HITCH, asked the Council for the Annual $300.00 donation to the Chamber of Com- <br />merce. <br />UPON MOTION of Councilman Trimingham and seconded by Councilman Hansen and approved <br />by all Councilmen present the Clerk was authorized to draw $300.00 from the <br />Music Promotion Fund payable to the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. <br />DR. HECTOR, asked why more directional signs could not be erected: showing the way <br />and miles to Pleasanton. <br />MR. AMARAL, explained that the matter had been taken up with the State many times <br />a) in the past but there is no State Highway through Pleasanton. .The.State has even <br />CD refused permission to erect the Neon sign new location on Highway #50. <br />MR. RITENOUR, informed the Council that the Neon sign formally located at Highway <br />#50 L. is now going to be placed at Bernal Hill Rd. <br />(Highway #21) <br />COUNCILMAN ABROTT, asked Mr. Harris Public Health Officer why Chevron Station <br />water analysis check was so high? <br />MR. HARRIS, stated that the only thing they,could;figure was, because of the recent work <br />done on the Water District pipe line on Vineyard Avenue caused a disturbance in <br />the line and'there being no check valve between the two ..systems it.backed into <br />the Town lines. <br />STREETS BUILDINGS: Councilman Hansen reported that a broom attachment for the <br />Ford tractor could be purchased from the Lawrence Tractor Company for $689.00 plus <br />tax. <br />Councilman Hansen made a motion to purchase the broom from Gas. Tax money seconded <br />by Councilman Abrott and approved by all Councilman present. <br />COUNCILMAN HANSEN extended congratulations to the Police Dept. for the manner in <br />which the Parade was handled requested the Clerk to wtite Sherriff Gleason <br />Captain Creel, thanking them for their assistance and work. <br />FIRE DEPT. CITY HALL: Councilman Trimingham requested a letter.be sent.to Sam WHit- <br />ing thanking him for the use of'his car for the two parades. <br />Councilman Trimingham called on Fire Chief Amaral for a report on the Farm Bureau <br />party for the Fire Dept. <br />Fire Chief Amaral said that the Committee fell below their goal. <br />UTILITIES: Councilman Abrott reported that Mr. Meyers was at work leveling the new <br />Effluent Field and the cost would be arount $2,000.00. <br />Mr. Mwyers suggested that the pipe valves be installed after he finished leveling <br />then wait for some rain before "checking" the field as the ground is too dry. <br />Councilman Abrott as also reported that he had contacted Mr. Ryan of the Calif. Con- <br />crete Products Co. of San Jose, who quoted $3,500.00 as approx. cost of installing <br />the pipe, valves labor at the Effluent Fields Whereupon Councilman Abrott intro- <br />duced: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2166 rejecting Bids as submitted June 4th authorizing necessary <br />material labor for the Effluent Pond Area to be carried on by the Town Day Labor <br />Purchase of Material on the open market. <br />Councilman Abrott submitted•a price of $1,500.00 for LeRoy Compressor recently <br />overhauled. <br />George Sobiela was asked to a look at it. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2167 (Quick Claim Deed S.F. property) was adopted on motion of Council- <br />man Trimingham and seconded by Councilman Abrott approved by all Councilmen present. <br />ATTORNEY GALE: brought up the curb gutter subject for 3rd Angela Streets stating <br />that Mr. F. Adams said he would be present but since he did not attend Att. Gale <br />said he would prepare the intended letter, to be sent to the property owners present <br />it at the next meeting for approval. <br />Attorney Gale was authorized to look into the incorporation Ordinances to be applied <br />to Pleasanton. <br />
