HECTOR, stated that he Was.present in the interest of Flouridation the Coun- <br />cil's action. <br />DICK HARRIS Public Health Insp., informed the Council that the application was <br />held up pending the Council's choice of equipment. <br />MAYOR OXSEN read a clipping "from a San Jose newspaper stating that the. Court <br />would ask the Attorney Generals opinion fcr adding a chemical to Public Water <br />Supply. <br />DR. HECTOR, the Bill that was defeated in the Senate.on <br />Felt that the city should apply for the permit as most of the legal techni- <br />calities will probably be cleared up by.the time the permit is granted. <br />COUNCILMAN ABROTT, stated that he had reviewed the estimates and types of equip- <br />ment for Flouridation that the various Company's have submitted. <br />Councilman Abrott, recommended the saturation method and equipment as submitted <br />by Bldg's Pacific, Inc. quoted at $737.00. <br />The Council accepted Councilman Abrott's recommendation. <br />MR. HARRIS, thanked.the Council and said that the. application would- be.completed <br />and turned over to the Clerk for signatures and formal filing. <br />MAYOR OXSEN called on Mr. Harding of the First National Bank. <br />MR. HARDING introduced Messers Lassen Moore, and stated that they had a program <br />to present to the Council that would be of great value to the Town. <br />Mr. Lassen thanked the Council, and stated that he had purchased the land opposite <br />the Sewage Disposal Plant and is going to sub divide same. The low ground next to <br />the Highway that is under water during the winter, would as planned be made <br />into a lake 900x500 there would be a swimming pool, and an area set aside for <br />a school. It is planned to put in a well that will serve the swimming pool lake. <br />Mr. Lassen assured the Council that while this is still in the planning stage <br />he will go through with it, as soon as material Government approval are forth- <br />coming. Whereupon Mr. Lassen asked if the Town would annex the area. <br />MAYOR OXSEN, stated that while the Sewage Disposal Plant could be made to handle <br />double it's present capacity something would have to be done about the Water <br />System. Mew reservoir wells etc. as water capacity could not handle any addi- <br />tion. <br />MR. LASSEN felt confident that the City of S.F. would cooperate with the Town on <br />the water situation and suggested a meeting to that effect. <br />MAYOR OXSEN, said he talked to Mr. Espy in regards to any annexations after <br />hearing rumors of the possible sub divisions, but stated, he received no definate <br />answer, but was led to beleive that it was possible. <br />COUNCILMAN TRIMINGHAM, explained that under the 1916 agreement with the City of <br />S.F. Pleasanton was allowed 6009,000 gallons per day, and if it were to annex <br />a new sub division we would probably have to purchase at the prevailing rates. <br />MR. HARDING, felt that the City of S.F. took into consideration, future expantion <br />for Pleasanton wasn't using 600,000 gallons per day at that time. <br />MAYOR OXSEN, asked Mr. Lassen how fast they expected to proceed with their build- <br />ing program. <br />MR. LASSEN, stated that they were in hopes of getting underway within 3 months <br />within a years time they plan to have 100 homes completed. all of this, of course, <br />hinges on Government restrictions F.H.A. approval how fast the homes sell. <br />COUNCILMAN ABROTT, suggested that the Council have a survey made by an Engineer,- <br />ing Company specializing in water. as to the reservoirs, limes etc. to supply <br />700 a..dditional homes. <br />DIXCUSSION FOLLOWED: <br />
