RESOLUTION. NO. 2114: Authorizing. reimbursement, .of.. General Fund of $2,400.00 from <br />Special Gas Tax Fund was adopted on motion by Councilman Trimingham, seconded <br />by Councilman Hewitson and approved by all Councilmen. <br />Councilman Hansen suggested that Pleasanton City Council entertain Livermore <br />City Council to a Bar -B -Q. Councilman Hansen commended the Police Dept. on their <br />job during the Fair. <br />Mayor Oxsen explained that El'easanton City Council was Livermore's guests last <br />year and recommended that we reciprocate. The Clerk was ordered•to write the <br />Livermore Council inviting.them to a Bar -B -Q at their convience. <br />Councilman Trimingham reported that the edges on picnic tables at McKinley Park <br />were in need of replacements. Asked to obtain price on new materials Council- <br />man Trimingham also conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all Departments <br />for the orderly manner in which Town was handled during the Fair. <br />City Attorney-Gale explained that the old Ordinances prohibited semi monthly <br />pay.'But, that the Council could adopt a Resolution. ammending pay schedule. <br />Was asked to prepare same. <br />THERE BEING no further business to come before the Council.,. the meeting. was <br />adjourned at 10 :20 to meet Monday July 24th 1950 at 8:00 P.M. to accept <br />Budget. <br />Mayor <br />Councilman Hewitson arrived 8 :05 P.M. <br />Pleasanton, California <br />July 24, 1950 <br />The..Council fo the Town of Pleasanton met in special session at 8 :00 P.M. <br />on the,above date, with Mayor Oxsen in the chair. Roll call-showed: CounciImen <br />Hansen,_Trimingham and Toney present. <br />Absent Councilman Hewitson <br />Mayor Oxsen stated that the purpose of this meeting was to the proposed <br />budget. First however, Mr. Perry -new manager of Livermore P.G.E. offices,was <br />present. and had with him Mr. Blacksmith Lighting Engineer for the P.G.&E. <br />who would like to present his recent survey to improve lighting on Main St. <br />Mr, Blacksmith reported that the heavy folage of the trees on Main St. was a <br />draw back,- but with new fixtures that would project light down; four foot <br />arm supports; Raising the fixtures to a minimum of 25 ft. over present 15 ft. <br />and increasing the candle power from 1,000 to 1,500 per fixture, would in- <br />crease lighting efficiency from 2 to 4 times. After some discussion and clari- <br />fication of questions by the Council, the Clerk was ordered to write -Mr. Perry <br />officially ordering the change of fixtures as per Mr. Slacksmiths recommenda- <br />tions. This will increase the rate from 42, .00 to 605.00 per year. <br />The proposed Budget was reviewed informally and in open discussion. <br />RECOMENDATIONS: <br />POLICE &..JUDICIARY: Councilman Hewitson: No increase required over present <br />proposal. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Councilman Hansen: Reports that Street Dept. is desirous of <br />a Tractor with street sweeping attachments etc. and a portable paint spraying <br />unit. Necessary estimate. Approved. <br />FIRE DEPT. CITY HALL: Councilman Trimingham; Reports that the Fire Dept. is <br />in need of a new roof as does the City, Hall. Necessary estimate.
