RESOLUTION. NO. 2114: Authorizing. reimbursement, .of.. General Fund of $2,400.00 from Special Gas Tax Fund was adopted on motion by Councilman Trimingham, seconded by Councilman Hewitson and approved by all Councilmen. Councilman Hansen suggested that Pleasanton City Council entertain Livermore City Council to a Bar -B -Q. Councilman Hansen commended the Police Dept. on their job during the Fair. Mayor Oxsen explained that El'easanton City Council was Livermore's guests last year and recommended that we reciprocate. The Clerk was ordered•to write the Livermore Council inviting.them to a Bar -B -Q at their convience. Councilman Trimingham reported that the edges on picnic tables at McKinley Park were in need of replacements. Asked to obtain price on new materials Council- man Trimingham also conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all Departments for the orderly manner in which Town was handled during the Fair. City Attorney-Gale explained that the old Ordinances prohibited semi monthly pay.'But, that the Council could adopt a Resolution. ammending pay schedule. Was asked to prepare same. THERE BEING no further business to come before the Council.,. the meeting. was adjourned at 10 :20 to meet Monday July 24th 1950 at 8:00 P.M. to accept Budget. Mayor Councilman Hewitson arrived 8 :05 P.M. Pleasanton, California July 24, 1950 The..Council fo the Town of Pleasanton met in special session at 8 :00 P.M. on the,above date, with Mayor Oxsen in the chair. Roll call-showed: CounciImen Hansen,_Trimingham and Toney present. Absent Councilman Hewitson Mayor Oxsen stated that the purpose of this meeting was to the proposed budget. First however, Mr. Perry -new manager of Livermore P.G.E. offices,was present. and had with him Mr. Blacksmith Lighting Engineer for the P.G.&E. who would like to present his recent survey to improve lighting on Main St. Mr, Blacksmith reported that the heavy folage of the trees on Main St. was a draw back,- but with new fixtures that would project light down; four foot arm supports; Raising the fixtures to a minimum of 25 ft. over present 15 ft. and increasing the candle power from 1,000 to 1,500 per fixture, would in- crease lighting efficiency from 2 to 4 times. After some discussion and clari- fication of questions by the Council, the Clerk was ordered to write -Mr. Perry officially ordering the change of fixtures as per Mr. Slacksmiths recommenda- tions. This will increase the rate from 42, .00 to 605.00 per year. The proposed Budget was reviewed informally and in open discussion. RECOMENDATIONS: POLICE &..JUDICIARY: Councilman Hewitson: No increase required over present proposal. STREET DEPARTMENT: Councilman Hansen: Reports that Street Dept. is desirous of a Tractor with street sweeping attachments etc. and a portable paint spraying unit. Necessary estimate. Approved. FIRE DEPT. CITY HALL: Councilman Trimingham; Reports that the Fire Dept. is in need of a new roof as does the City, Hall. Necessary estimate. Approved. 5
