Public Health Dept. <br />6/21 Copy of letter to Greyhound Bus <br />6/15 County Auditor <br />6/15 <br />11 <br />ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Enclosed check in lieu taxes $832.82 <br />Requesting Sales Tax paid to Pleasanton <br />changed to Annual in place of 1/4 pymt. <br />Water Analysis <br />Co. C. C. requests empty buses leaving <br />Fair Grounds pick up extra fares at <br />Depot. <br />.Transmit Tax Collections #33.65 <br />$121.76 <br />The request of the Richfield 011 Co. to pay Sales Tax Annualy in place <br />of quarterly approved and answered by Clerk <br />All other Communications were ordered filed: <br />POLICE JUDICIARY: Councilman•Hewitson.reported that vacations would start <br />next month. And that the Police Car was in need of a general tune -up. <br />STREETS BUILDINGS: Councilman Hansen reported that schools signs had been <br />replaced and repaired where necessary. <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Requested a demonstration of a portable paint machine be <br />granted and purchased if satisfactory. Approx. Cost $175.00. Request granted. <br />FIRE DEPTARTMENT CITY HALL: Councilman Trimingham No report. <br />Mr. Carlo Cavestri Spectator, asked Councilman Trimingham why he had been dis- <br />charged: Councilman Trimingham answered by stating that Alex Higuera was obtained <br />to do City Hall Park gardening plus the Fire Dept. grounds with less money <br />and would care for McKinley Park in exchange for living quarters at the Park. <br />Therefore one man could care for all the City property in place of two men. and <br />with less money. Councilman Trimingham assured Mr. Cavestri that there was no <br />complaint as to his work. <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES: Councilman Toney reported that the pumps at Black Ave. were <br />not pumping to capacity therefore city pumps had to be shut down in order to <br />have Black Ave. pumps refill the sump. Councilman Toney suggested that one or <br />the other be made automatic. George Sobiela stated that city pumps were pump- <br />ing 600 Gal. plus while Black Ave. pumps were only pumping around 560 gal. <br />Partially due to water level dropping and that repairs to field pumps were <br />necessary. <br />It was suggested b the Council that the Clerk write to Mr. Espy in regards <br />to repair of same after George Sobiela checked with Mr. YounTat Sunol. <br />THE CLERK was ordered to draft the proposed Budget for the Council to review at <br />a special meeting Monday July 24th. at :00 P.M. <br />MAYOR OXSEN: Reported Mrs. Hall requested a joint meeting of the Pleasanton <br />Housing Commisioners with City Councilmen with a represenative of•the Federal <br />Housing Authority to clarify questions in regards to the purchase of Kottinger <br />Village. The Mayor informed Mrs. Hall, that the City Attorney would first have <br />to render a ruling for the Council. The Mayor requested same of the City Att. <br />Gale to be rendered at the next meeting. <br />The Mayor informed the Council that the Bond issued on the City Clerk, was <br />in his possession. <br />Mayor Oxsen reported that the Civilian Defense meeting in Livermore was a <br />review, of war years and should be given consideration. <br />CLERK was ordered to obtain a P. 0. box for the City. <br />Joe Medeiros reports that Joe Rose will take his vacation starting Monday July <br />17th. <br />George Sobiela reported that. Mr. Fullerton and Mr. Apperson request 1 1/2" <br />meters. Following some discussion, it was decided that the price of 1 1/2" <br />was prohibitive, and 3/4" meters would be th'e maximum size furnished by the <br />City. <br />Mr. Sobiela informed the Council that he had purchased enough fittings and <br />pipe to last approximately 1 1/2 yrs. normal use. <br />The Council authorized the purchase of 12 3/4" meters. <br />
