45 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2149 authorizing Mr. H. Goodridge to establish grade for construction <br />curb gutter on Division, Angela, Third Abbie Streets. <br />MR. GOODRIDGE reported on Bernal Ave. it is 40' at Main St. to back of Memorial <br />Bldg. from there on it is only 20' wide (pavement) <br />Mr. Goodridge presented the following estimates: <br />To resurface 20' width $300.00 per running ft. <br />New surface 40' width 600.00 t <br />40' surface to Augustine approx. $6,000.00 <br />40' surface to Harrison approx 12,000.00 <br />MR; JOHN AMARAL asked the Council about Kottinger Ave. from Regalia Ave. to McKinley <br />Park stating he is, still willing to donate 10' of property to make the Street the <br />required 40'. <br />MAYOR OXSEN said that the street had to be 40' or the City could'nt do anything on <br />the street. <br />MR. GOODRIDGE reminded the Council that the Street must be 40' between curbs 50' <br />between property lines. <br />DISCUSSION as to Other property owners on the street that are willing to donate land <br />for the street. <br />Mr. Amaral has talked to them in the past and that they would still cooperate but <br />if they did'nt, he would be willing to give the extra footage if necessary. <br />MAYOR OXSEN asked the opinon of the Council. <br />dtt <br />Councilman Trimingham stated that we need the subdivision and that the street certain- <br />ly needs repairing. <br />Councilman Abrott reasoned that it would be an assest to the Town in more ways than <br />one. Building sites which are max surely needed more taxes etc. <br />MOTION by Councilman Trimingham, to resurface Kottinger Ave. from Regalia to McKinley <br />Park provided it is 40' between curbs 50' between property lines, seconded by <br />Councilman Abrott and approved by all Councilman present. <br />MOTION was made by Councilman Trimingham and seconded by Councilman Hansen instruct- <br />ing Mr. Goodridge to prepare plans and specifications for construction work on St. <br />Mary St. and Bernal Ave. work on Bernal Ave. from Main to Augustine. approved by <br />all Councilman present. <br />MR. PERRY, Mgr. of P.G. &E. Livermore, presented the Council with check for $215.00 <br />in payment of Gas Franchise -c.in accordance with City Ordinance 153, for calendar <br />year 1950. <br />Mr. Perry asked if there was any further development on the tree situation Council- <br />man Hansen said there was nothing new but that Joe Medeiros would call him when any <br />thing came up also told Mr. Perry that the City has a new chain saw and would cut <br />trees off at the ground after they are trimmed. <br />MR. MADERIOS requested that curb and gutter be constructed at Augustine Angela St's <br />Mr. Maderios was informed; that where one property owner, owned more than 50% of the <br />MAYOR OXSEN called a five minute recess before proceeding with the regular business <br />THE MEETING was again called to order. <br />CLERK was instructed to invite Dr. Malcolm to the next regular meeting, if convenient, <br />to discuss Flouridation. <br />COUNCILMAN HANSEN was given O.K. to transfere the Dodge pick -up to Street Dept. and <br />to replace two windows the seat have 3 tires recapped. <br />The parking situation was again brought up and Mayor Oxsen stated that it was the <br />businessmen and their employees who are creating the majority of the trouble, one <br />will park down the street from his own place in front of his neighboring business- <br />man's establishment. <br />FIRE DEPT. CITY BLDG'S Councilman Trimingham stated that Air Raid Warnings would be <br />held on the 7th 8th of April. <br />Councilman Trimingham asked the Council if they wished to sponser an event in'the <br />Horse Show at the Fair. Councilman Trimingham was requested to look into same. <br />UTILITIES Councilman Abrott submitted altered plans for new Pond Area. <br />Councilman Abrott was instructed to contact Engineer Ramseier to prepare plans, and <br />specifications and bids for same. <br />
