MAYOR OXSEN asked the Council their views on the matter after hearing those <br />present. <br />COUNCILMAN HANSEN property owner favored D- Control <br />Councilman Trimingham property owner -'(no rentals) favored De- Control. <br />Councilman Abrott renter favored D- Control as there is much inequality <br />throughout the Town as to rent. <br />COUNCILMAN TRIMINGHAM stated that after hearing arguments from both sides, he <br />moved that the Council go on record applying to the Federal Housing Administra- <br />tor for Rent De- Control, motion seconded by Councilman Hansen and approved by <br />all Councilmen present. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2131 Adopted Resolution No. 2128 (Federal Rent Control) moved <br />by Councilman Trimingham, seconded by Councilman Hansen to dispense•withe read- <br />ing of same approved by all Councilmen present. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2131 was adopted on motion by Councilman Trimingham, seconded by <br />Councilman Hansen and approved by all Councilman present. <br />CQ MAYOR OXSEN called a five minute recess <br />cn <br />MEETING called to order at 8:35 P.M. <br />get MAYOR OXSEN stated that the Council had to make an appointment to the Board of <br />Trustees of the Alameda Mosquito Abatement District, and that he had spoke to <br />Mr: Harold Grimm as he was familar with some of the District's work and that <br />Mr. Grimm would accept' the appointment. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2132 Appointment of H. W. Grimm to the post of Trustee for the <br />Alameda Mosquito Abatement District was adopted by motion. of Councilman Abrott, <br />seconded by Councilman Trimingham and approved by all Councilman presen.L....,.. <br />MAYOR OXSEN stated that the Contractor for the Grammar School job called him <br />with reference to a Building Permit, that all other cities in the past had <br />waived said permit. <br />Following a discussion by the Council it was unanimously agreed that the permit <br />had been required by Contractors on similar jobs in the past and same should be <br />required now. <br />27 <br />MAYOR'OXSEN presented a wage scale, as prepared by the Council and stated that <br />it was a wage adjustment and cost of living increase. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2133 "Fixing the Compensation of Certain Officers of the Town of <br />Pleasanton, was adopted on motion of Councilman Hansen, seconded by Councilman <br />Trimingham and approved by all Councilmen present. <br />STREETS: Councilman Hansen reported that the new Ford Tractor was delivered Sat- <br />urday December 16, 1950 <br />CITY HALL FIRE HOUSE: Councilman Trimingham reported that,the siren switch <br />would :be installed by the Pleasanton Electric Compnay within a week or so. <br />UTILITIES: Councilman Abrott reminded Council that Bids should be called, for <br />drilling pipe crossing under R.R. Tracks with.,,Sewage Plant. Councilman Abrott <br />will contact Engineer Ranseier to draw up Bid Schedule and Specifications for <br />same. <br />RENO CAIRO submitted an estimatgever of $915.00 to dredge drainage ditch <br />Sewer Farm. <br />CHIEF OF POLICE DELUCCHI reported that Patrolman Parscale had resigned yesterday. <br />Resignation accepted upon motion by Councilman Hansen, seconded Councilman Triming- <br />ham and approved by all Councilman present. <br />THE CLERK presented Gas Oil purchase schedule for the colander year, 1951 and <br />was approved as presented for all Departments. <br />THE CLERK was instructed to contact the P.G.&E. for estimated cost of changing <br />heating system in City Hall, from Oil to Natural Gas. <br />
