Whereas, The Alameda County Tuberculosis Association is now engaged in its annual <br />salerof Christmas seals, the proceeds of such sale to be used for the building and <br />equipment of a preventorium for predisposed tubercular children, and <br />Whereas, Such move is a worthy one, and is deserving of the support of all com- <br />munities, now Therefore <br />Be It Resolved, by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Pleasanton, that the <br />clerk: be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to draw a warrant on the Town <br />Treasurer in favor of the Pleasanton Chairman of the Alameda County Tuberculosis <br />association the sum of twenty -five dollars as a donation. <br />The adoption of this resolution was moved by Trustee Bairos, and seconded by <br />Trustees Garatti and carried by the following vote: <br />Ayes; Trustees Pickard, Garatti, Bruce, Bairos and Schween. <br />Noes; None <br />Absent: None. <br />Dated, Dec. 3, 1923. <br />The Foilawing Ordinance recdived its second reading: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 137. <br />AN ORDINANCE AM NDING ORDINANCE NO. 113 OF THE TOWN OF PLEASANTON? ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE <br />IMPOSING A LICENSE TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATION? AND OF REVENUE? AND FIXING THE <br />RATES THEREOF, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN. AS SECTION 10., SUBDIVISION <br />27. <br />The Board of Trustees of the Town of Pleasanton do Ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. -A new subdivision to section 10 of Ordinance No. 113 of the Town of <br />Pleasanton is hereby adopted to•read as follows: <br />"Subdivision 27.- -Every person, firm or corporation, engaged in, carrying on, pursuing <br />or conducting within the limits of the Town of Pleasanton, the business of advertising by <br />posting, sticking, tacking, affixing or painting bills "r suns to or upon Posts, fences, <br />billboards. advcrtsina slgn boards. buildings or other structures used, in hole or in part <br />as advertising rurroses,, shall procure a li'_iense and nsy a license tsx of twenty -five <br />(1;125.00) dollars per annum, payable yearly in advance; provided, further, that all per- <br />sons, firms or corporations so advertising, shall place in the lower left hand corner <br />of each billboard, signboard or sqace used on bu ldings or other structures for advertising <br />purposes, the name of said person, firm or corporation using said surface for advertising <br />purposes; and provided further that any person, firm or corporation shall be deemed to be <br />engaged in the business of advertising as herein provided who posts., sticks, tacks, affixes, <br />in any manner or paints nme or more bills or signs to or upon one or more posts, fences, <br />billboards, buildings or other structures used.in whole or in part for advertising <br />purposes. <br />Sec. 2. -This ordinance shall be published once in The Pleasanton Ties and shall <br />take effect immediately upon its publication. <br />Moved by Trustee 3 <br />Resolution:No. 952. <br />C.
