Nona, Therefore Be It fZes,olved By the Board <br />f Trustees of the Town of Pleasanton, that <br />said firm of. Heafy, Moore McNair be, and they hereby are, granted. permission to grade <br />and pave said portions of Main street provided for in said contract and plans and specifi- <br />cations, it being particularly understood, however, that said contraot,. plans and <br />;specifications provide for the gradinga and paving of those portions of Main street <br />which intersect with other streets of the Town of Pleasanton between the northerly and <br />southerly limits of said work. <br />Be It Further Resolved that the plans and specifications for the improvement of <br />said. portions of Main street now on file with George A. Posey, civil engineer of the <br />Town of Pleasanton, a copy of which is attached to said petition, be and they are hereby <br />approved and adopted as the plans and specifications for the iM )rovement of said portions <br />of Mainnstreet. <br />Introduced by trustee Pickard, seconded by Bairos and passed by the dollowing vote: <br />Ayes: Trustees Pickard, Garatti, Bairos, Bruce and Schween. <br />Noes: Iioe <br />Agreement <br />President Schween reported that in pursuant to Resolution 11o. 963 he, as <br />president of the,Board of Town Trustees had executed a contract for the paving of <br />that portion of Main street lying between the gutter in front of Town Hall and <br />the 18 -foot strip owned by the county Of Alameda, with.the firm of Heafy, Moore McNair <br />for the sum of Two Hundred and'Ninety =Nine Dollars. A duplicate copy of the contract <br />is on file in the office of the Town, C7 erk. <br />Thomas H. Silver was appointed by the Board to audit the municipality's books. <br />There being no further Business the oou:a a.ajonrned to March 24th at 7;30 p. m. <br />Pleasanton, California, Macrh 24, 1924. <br />The Board of Town Trustees were called to order ,at 7:30m p m. by president <br />Schween. The roll call Of fro members showed all trustees to be present. <br />A petition signed by H. Stojahnn and four other persons owning property <br />fronting on Main street between Bernal avenue and the Southern Pacific tracks near the <br />town limits protesting against any street improvements in that section at the <br />expense of the property owners was received and ordered placed on file. <br />The town clerk was instructed to oommunie to 7,1 h '''e Svuue Insurance Compensation <br />Fund to ascertain whether or not volunteer firemen were covered under the provisions <br />of the Town's policy. <br />New Appointment. <br />The following resolution was introduced and read: <br />Resolution No. 965. <br />Be It Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Pleasanton that Frank C. <br />Nevis be removed from the position of Superintendent of streets of the Town of Pleasan- <br />ton and that Geo. A. Posey be and he is hereby appointed superintendent of streets of <br />the Town of'Pleasanton without compensation, <br />Be It Further j esolved that the superinent .,of..,streets.be -.and he is_...herebec--au <br />thorized and instructed employ -F. C. Nevis to act- as-- inspe,ctorrof •streets-,--- who-._hall <br />be entitled to receive :compensation of twenty -five dollars.a month, and that he may also., <br />employ. such other deputies as he may deem necessary for the purpose of inspection, with- <br />out compensation.''' <br />571 <br />
