clerk was instructed to issue the permit applied for. <br />To Purchase Water Pipe. <br />The Town Engineer was instructed to purchase sufficient water pipe fo the town to <br />replace pipe about to be taken up on Main street. <br />Adjournment <br />There being no further business the board adjourned until Thursday, March 5th at <br />7;3o p. m. <br />Approved: <br />president of the Board o' Town Trustees: <br />Town Clerk <br />Pleasanton, California, March 5, 1924.. <br />The Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:70 p. m., pursuant to motion of <br />adjournment made at the previous meeti4g. President Schween was in the chair. <br />6 <br />Mr, Burbank, representing the firm of Heafy, Moore McNair, reported to the <br />Board that 73% of the property holders on lain street had signed contracts with his <br />company for paving the street in front of their propert/es by private contract, and <br />asked permissiod of the Board to construct the paved street in accordance with the <br />plans and specifications submitted by the city Engineer. <br />The following resolution was submitted and read by the clerk: <br />Resolution No. 962^ <br />Whereas, the county of. Alameda has let a contract for the paving of a strip <br />eighteen feet wide in the center of Main street in the Town of Pleasanton, and the <br />contractor awarded said contract has commenced work of paving said strip, and <br />Whereas, persons owning mor than one held of the property fronting on said <br />Main street have expressed their desire td have the remaining portion of Lain street <br />between the gutters and said eighteen foot strip paved, and the Board of `rustees <br />of the Town of Pleasanton pledged themselves to the Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of Alameda to have said remaining portions oil' Main street paved, and in said manner <br />to co- operate with said board of Supervisors in paving Main street, and <br />Whereas, Many owners of property on said Main street have not yet undertaken to have <br />the work done by private contract; and <br />Whereas, it will be necessary to have said work done in accordance with the street <br />Improvements Acts of the State of California in the event that all owners of property <br />on Main street do not u,dertake to have said wo :k don by orivate contract. <br />Now Therefore be it Resolved, That Engineer George A. Posey be inst cuted to imme :iately <br />complete the preparation of plan, and specifications for the paving and change of grade <br />of daid portions of Main street and for the assessment of said work union the oyvnesr <br />of property on Main street; and <br />Be It Further Resolved, That the attorney for the Town of Pleasanton be instructed <br />to prepare a Resolution of Intention to cause said work to be done and to prepare any and <br />all other instruments and papers necessary to the carving on of said work accordance <br />with the street improvements Acts of the State. of California.. <br />Instroduced on March 7, 1924, by Trustee seconded uby Trustee Bairos <br />569 <br />
