Frames that are subject to net tensile forces as part of the <br />Lateral Force Resisting System shall be tested in <br />accordance with AISC Seismic Part I Section 16. This <br />testing shall be a part of the special inspection requirements <br />of Section 1701.5. A program for this testing shall be <br />established by the person responsible for structural design <br />and as shown on plans and specifications. <br /> <br />20.08.048 Section 904.2.2 amended - Automatic Fire Extinguishing <br /> Systems. <br /> <br />Section 904.2.2 of the Califomia Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br /> (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building, <br /> 1997 Edition, is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />904.2.2 <br /> <br />An automatic fire extinguishing system or other <br />approved fire suppression system(s) shall be <br />installed as follows: <br /> <br />In every building where the floor and basement area <br />exceeds 8000 square feet. <br /> <br />Exceptions: <br /> 1. Group R, Division 3 Occupancies. <br />2. Group U, Division 1 private garages of 1,000 <br /> square feet or less. <br />3. Group U, Division 2 Occupancies. <br /> <br />In all buildings of all occupancies except Groups <br />R1, R3 and U occupancies on a parcel when the <br />building(s) ama(s) on the parcel exceeds 8,000 <br />square feet of floor area, including area of <br />basements. <br /> <br />All buildings residential or commercial over 5 <br />minutes response time, as determined by the Fire <br />chief, from a City fire station. <br /> <br />Any structure in any area or location determined by <br />the Fire Chief to be a high fire hazard.
