20.08.032 UBC Section 904.3.1, amended-- Where required Section 904.3.1 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code is amended to read as follows: Section 1003.3.1 Where required. All valves controlling the water supply for automatic sprinkler systems and water- flow switches on all sprinkler systems shall be electrically monitored as follows: 1. All fire protection and fire alarm systems shall be supervised to an Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Central Station Service. Valve monitoring, water-flow alarm(s), FM 200 system(s), and trouble signal(s) etc. shall be distinctly different and shall be automatically transmitted to an approved Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Central Station Service as specified in NFPA 72-1999 Edition. 2. All Fire alarm system(s) alarm initiation and signaling shall comply with the provisions in Pleasanton Municipal Code Section 20.24.150. Valve monitoring and water-flow alarm and trouble signals shall be distinctly different and shall be automatically transmitted to an approved Underwriters Laboratory Central Station Service, as defined by national standards, or, when approved by the building official with the concurrence of the chief of the fire department, sound an audible signal at a constantly attended location. 20.08.034 UBC Section 2320.11.3, amended-- Bracing: Section 2320.11.3 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code is amended to read as follows: 1. Braced wall lines shall consist of braced wall panels, which meet the requirements for location, type and amount of bracing specified in Table 23-1 V-C-1 and are in line or offset from each other by not more than 4 feet (1219 mm). 2. Braced wall panels shall start at not more than 8 feet (2438 mm) from each end of a braced wall line. 17
