External <br />forces and moments are those resulting from the load <br />combinations of Section 1612.3. <br /> <br />20.08.030 Section 104.2.12 Added - Installation Of Spark Arresters: <br /> <br />Section 104.2.12 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br /> (24 CCR), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code, <br /> 1997 Edition, is added to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 104.2.12. Installation of Spark An'esters. <br />1. Existing dwelling units shall be retrofitted with a spark <br />arrestor upon the occurrence of any of the following events: <br />I. Upon notice from the City; <br />II. Reroofing; <br />III. Resale of the dwelling unit; <br />IV. Issuance of a building permit for alterations, repairs or <br />additions in excess of $1,000. <br />2. In the event of a resale of a dwelling unit, the seller shall <br />be responsible to comply with this ordinance. Any real <br />property professional representing the seller shall be <br />required to notify the seller of seller's obligation to comply <br />with this ordinance. <br />3. The spark arrestor required by this section shall be <br />substantially constructed and have a screen area of the <br />chimney it serves. Openings shall not permit the passage of <br />spheres having a diameter of larger than one-half (1/2) inch <br />nor block the passage of spheres having a diameter of less <br />than three-eighths (3/8) inch.
