EXTRAORDINARY TEMPORARY SIGNS <br /> <br /> Extraordinary temporary signs are exempt from these <br /> <br />regulations. An extraordinary temporary sign is any <br />window sign displayed at any business and maintained for <br />five (5) or fewer days on not more than three (3) <br />occasions per year under circumstances deemed by the <br />owner of the subject building or use to be extraordinary <br />and infeasible to comply with the adopted sign program <br />for that business. The Zoning Administrator shall be <br />notified on the first day such an extraordinary <br />temporary sign is installed, indicating the number of <br />times such signs have been used; if no notice is given, <br />the sign shall be an illegal sign. <br /> <br />8. OVERHANG SIGNS <br /> <br /> The following types of overhang signs may be mounted <br /> <br />to, or suspended from, a fixed, permanent building <br />projections (but not on top of sloping surfaces or <br />roofs): <br /> <br /> a) Signs mounted to the vertical face of the <br /> building projection, and therefore parallel to <br /> the storefront. Such signs shall not exceed an <br /> overall average height of two (2) feet; or <br /> <br /> b) Signs suspended from a building projection, and <br /> therefore perpendicular to the storefront. Such <br /> signs shall not exceed an overall average height <br /> of nine (9) inches. <br /> <br /> <br />
