Accept the Monthly Disbursements and Investment Report for April 2009 Operations Services 9. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Platinum Facility Services in the amount of $139,420 for custodial services 10. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Contract Sweeping Services in the amount of $154,775 for cleaning city streets and parklots MOTION: It was m/s by Cook Kallio /Thorne to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as noted. Motion passed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Cook Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman Noes: None Absent: None MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 11. School Safety Valet of the Year Presentation Vice -Mayor Cook Kallio introduced Lisa Adamos, City Coordinator for the Rides to School Program. Ms. Adamos said that Rides to School has selected ten outstanding fifth graders and one adult volunteer who have exemplified outstanding performance as safety valets during the 2008 -2009 school year. Rides to Schools educates and supports 264 safety valets at various elementary schools who help their fellow classmates in and out of their vehicles in an effort to expedite the drop off and pick up process at our schools. Ms. Adamos also thanked Pleasanton Police Department traffic Officers Aaron Acromyn, John Blanchard, Glen Cornell, Doug Jones, and Chris Neiderhaus for their assistance in valet training and providing support throughout the year. Vice -Mayor Cook Kallio read the commendation which was presented to following students: Alisal Elementary School Fabian Placencia; Fairlands Elementary School Tommy Hertz and Adult Valet John Clatworthy; Lydiksen Elementary School Andrew Brum and Teegan Leger; Mohr Elementary Adeil Abulata; Vintage Hills Elementary School Donovan DeSuza; Walnut Grove Elementary School Dorna Methisegi and Matthew Rooney; Valley View Elementary School Colin Hos Jeung Ms. Adamos thanked Colina Bailey of Donlon Elementary who was unable to attend tonight's meeting. In closing, she thanked the students, faculty, and families for their hard work. 12. June 6, 2009 "Bob Moorefield Day" Vice -Mayor Cook Kallio read the proclamation declaring June 6, 2009 "Bob Moorefield Day Mr. Moorefield is retiring this year after 36 years of service as Band Director at Foothill High School since its opening in 1973.
