FUTURE LIGHT RAIL

No permanent structures, including buildings,
ere. should be located within the area shown as
Future Light Rail on the plans. Locate underground
construction, including utilities, so that they cross
the Future Light Rail zone at a 90" angle.

. SCULPTURE PARK

Seven categories for sculptures, and potential
locations have been identified on the drawings:
6 permanent art pieces, and 1 temporary or
ephemeral art piece.

All sculptures should be site specific, that is, they
should be created for the specific location.

Initial selection of artists and/or works should be
by the Pleasanton Arts Commission, or by a special
Art Sculpture Committee.

Artists are encouraged to work with the context
of each site and to incorporate earth manipulation
and plant materials into their pieces and sculpture
areas.

Each art piece should be appropriate for a pub-
lic setting. For example, the piece and its materials
should be permanent, low maintenance, and suit-
able for outdoor installation. Each piece should be
constructed to avoid potential safety hazards to
users, including children.

'ARKING ARIEA

II'IED/IIK IE
T R A ~

REGIONAL TRAIL CORRIDOR DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS
38
