c. A minimum of 20% of the of the 242 new trees to be used <br /> in landscaping planted -- 48 trees -- shall be 24" box <br /> size specimen trees. These trees shall be planted along <br /> the sides of the project facing Dublin Canyon Road and <br /> the 1-580/Foothill Road off-ramp. The new trees shall be <br /> shown on the final landscape plan set subject to approval <br /> of the Planning Director prior to issuance of building <br /> permits. The remaining trees shall be a minimum of 15 <br /> gallons in size. All shrubs shall be a minimum of 5 <br /> gallons, unless otherwise shown on the approved landscape <br /> plan. <br /> <br />d. The applicant shall comply with the recommendations of <br /> the "Tree Survey (for) Homewood Suites, Pleasanton, CA", <br /> prepared by HortScience, Inc. dated March 26, 1992. The <br /> applicant shall arrange for the horticultural consultant <br /> to review the building permit plan set and to conduct a <br /> field inspection prior to issuance of grading permits to <br /> ensure that all recommendations have been properly <br /> implemented. Prior to occupancy the consultant shall <br /> certify in writing to the Planning Director that such <br /> recommendations have been followed. <br /> <br />e. The applicant shall post cash, letter of credit, or other <br /> security satisfactory to the Planning Director in the <br /> amount of $5,000 for each tree required to be preserved <br /> (not to exceed $25,000). This cash bond or security <br /> shall be retained for one year following acceptance of <br /> public improvements or completion of construction, <br /> whichever is later, and shall be forfeited if the trees <br /> are destroyed or substantially damaged. <br /> <br />f. The applicant shall provide root control barriers and <br /> four inch perforated pipes for parking lot trees, street <br /> trees, and trees in planting areas less than ten feet in <br /> width, as determined necessary by the Planning Director <br /> at the time of review of the final landscape plans. <br /> <br />g. Prior to occupancy, the landscape architect shall certify <br /> in writing to the Planning Director that the landscaping <br /> has been installed in accordance with the approved <br /> landscape and irrigation plans with respect to size, <br /> number, and species of plants and overall design concept. <br /> <br />h. The applicant shall adjust the sprinkler heads to <br /> redirect the water away from the monument sign while <br /> ensuring complete irrigation coverage of the landscaping <br /> around the sign. All landscaping around the sign shall <br /> be restored after installation of the sign and prior to <br /> final of the sign permit. <br /> <br /> <br />
