The location of both the exhaust and inlet air <br /> openings shall be arranged to provide air movement across <br /> all portions of the floor or room to prevent the <br /> accumulation of vapors. <br /> <br /> 7. Exhaust ventilation shall not be recirculated within <br /> the room or building if the materials stored are capable <br /> of emitting hazardous vapors. <br /> <br /> Section 80.301(n). SeParation of Incompatible Hazardo~ <br /> Materials. Storage of incompatible hazardous materials <br /> shall be separated. <br /> <br /> Separation shall be accomplished by: <br /> <br /> 1. Segregating incompatible hazardous materials storage <br /> by a distance of not less than 20 feet. <br /> <br /> 2. Isolating incompatible hazardous materials storage by <br /> a noncombustible partition extending not less than 18 <br /> inches above and to the sides of the stored material, or <br /> <br /> 3. Storing in hazardous materials storage cabinets or <br /> gas cabinets. Materials which are incompatible shall not <br /> be stored within the same cabinet. <br /> <br /> [Delete Section 80,301(o)] <br /> <br />Section 80.301(D). Fire-extinquishinq Systems. For <br />quantities of hazardous materials in excess of the exempt <br />amounts specified in Sections 80,302 through 80,315, <br />unless exempted or otherwise provided for in Sections <br />80,302 through 80,315, indoor storage areas and storage <br />buildings shall be protected by an automatic sprinkler <br />system. The design of the sprinkler system shall not be <br />less than that required by the Building Code for Ordinary <br />Hazard Group 3 with a minimum design area of 3,000 square <br />feet. See U.B.C. Standard No. 38.1. Where the materials <br />or storage arrangement require a higher level of <br />sprinkler system protection in accordance with nationally <br />recognized standards, the higher level of sprinkler <br />system protection shall be provided. <br /> <br />Exception: Approved alternate automatic fire- <br />extinguishing systems are allowed. <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
