Class C rated roof coverings may <br /> be installed on buildings of Group U <br /> Division 1 occupancies of less than <br /> 1,000 square feet in projected roof <br /> area. <br /> <br /> 3. Class C rated roof coverings may <br /> be installed on buildings of Group R <br /> Division I Occupancies which are not <br /> more than two stories in height and <br /> have not more than 3,000 square feet <br /> of projected roof area, and where <br /> there is a minimum of 10 feet from <br /> the extremity of the roof to the <br /> property line on all sides except <br /> street fronts. <br /> <br /> Regardless of the classification rating, wood <br /> product roof covering materials shall not be <br /> permitted or installed in the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Exception. Existing Group R Division I, <br /> and Group U Division I, structures with <br /> wood product roofs may be reroofed with <br /> wood product coverings under the <br /> following conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. When the reroofing material <br /> applied is pressure fire treated. <br /> Fire treated material must be in <br /> accordance with approved national <br /> standards; and <br /> <br /> 2. The reroofing is installed as a <br /> Class B assembly as defined by <br /> Uniform Building Standard 15-2. <br /> <br /> Hazard Areas shall be defined as those areas <br /> beyond five (5) minutes driving time of fire <br /> apparatus from the fire station serving those <br /> particular districts or areas determined by <br /> the Fire Chief to be either high hazard areas <br /> or extreme hazard areas based on steepness of <br /> slope and/or fuel loadings from combustible <br /> plant materials as set forth in the Safety <br /> Element of the General Plan.
