Ordinance No. 1669 Page 16 B. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall, from time to time, be necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department shall recommend to the City Manager the employment of technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, shall be selected through an examination, which shall be open to members and non members of the Fire Department, and appointments made after examination shall be for an indefinite term with removal only for cause (Ord. 1169 § 8 (part), 1984; Prior Code § 4-1.01). 20.24.050 Appeals Whenever the Fire Chief or the Fire Chief's duly authorized representative shall disapprove an application or refuse to grant a permit applied for, or when it is claimed that the provisions of the Code or this Chapter do not apply or that the true intent or meaning of the Code has been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, or there is a dispute as to the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction, then the applicant may appeal the decision of the Fire Chief to the City Council sitting as the Board of Appeals within thirty (30) days from the date of the decision appealed. Such appeal shall be in writing and the Council shall, within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the appeals and by written notice to the applicant, either uphold, reverse or modify the decision of the Fire Chief. 20.24.055 Section 105.3.1. added - Fees Section 105.3.1 is added to the adopted Uniform Fire Code to read as follows: Section 105.3.1 The requirements of this article shall be subject to the permits specified in the Uniform Building Code and/or Uniform Fire Code as adopted and amended. Permit or plan review fees may be provided by resolution of the City Council or as provided by the Uniform Building Code and/or Uniform Fire Code. Any required plans shall be submitted to the fire department for review and approval prior to the issuance of any permits required by this Article.
