Ordinance No. 1669 <br />Page 16 <br /> <br /> B. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail <br /> such members of the Fire Department as inspectors <br /> as shall, from time to time, be necessary. The <br /> Chief of the Fire Department shall recommend to the <br /> City Manager the employment of technical <br /> inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, <br /> shall be selected through an examination, which <br /> shall be open to members and non members of the <br /> Fire Department, and appointments made after <br /> examination shall be for an indefinite term with <br /> removal only for cause (Ord. 1169 § 8 (part), 1984; <br /> Prior Code § 4-1.01). <br /> <br /> 20.24.050 Appeals <br /> <br /> Whenever the Fire Chief or the Fire Chief's duly <br /> authorized representative shall disapprove an <br /> application or refuse to grant a permit applied <br /> for, or when it is claimed that the provisions of <br /> the Code or this Chapter do not apply or that the <br /> true intent or meaning of the Code has been <br /> misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, or there is a <br /> dispute as to the suitability of alternate <br /> materials and types of construction, then the <br /> applicant may appeal the decision of the Fire Chief <br /> to the City Council sitting as the Board of Appeals <br /> within thirty (30) days from the date of the <br /> decision appealed. Such appeal shall be in writing <br /> and the Council shall, within thirty (30) days of <br /> the receipt of the appeals and by written notice to <br /> the applicant, either uphold, reverse or modify the <br /> decision of the Fire Chief. <br /> <br /> 20.24.055 Section 105.3.1. added - Fees <br /> <br /> Section 105.3.1 is added to the adopted Uniform <br /> Fire Code to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 105.3.1 The requirements of this article <br /> shall be subject to the permits specified in the <br /> Uniform Building Code and/or Uniform Fire Code as <br /> adopted and amended. Permit or plan review fees <br /> may be provided by resolution of the City Council <br /> or as provided by the Uniform Building Code and/or <br /> Uniform Fire Code. Any required plans shall be <br /> submitted to the fire department for review and <br /> approval prior to the issuance of any permits <br /> required by this Article. <br /> <br /> <br />
