Ordinance No. 1669 <br />Page 15 <br /> <br /> Uniform Fire Code, installation of <br /> automatic fire protection systems shall be <br /> required as provided in Section 20.08.050 <br /> of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> <br /> 20.24.035 Section 101.7.1 added - Restitution <br /> <br /> Section 101.7.1 is added to the Uniform Fire <br /> Code to read as follows: <br /> <br /> The fire department may seek restitution from <br /> an owner, operator, occupant or other person <br /> responsible for a property for the reasonable <br /> cost of suppressing a fire on that property <br /> which is a result of that person's violation <br /> of any federal, state or local ordinance or <br /> statute. <br /> <br /> 20.24.040 Section 1001.4.1 added - Prevention of <br /> False Alarms: <br /> <br /> Section 1001.4.1 is added to the adopted Uniform <br /> Fire Code to read as follows: <br /> <br /> A. It is unlawful for any property owner or <br /> licensed contractor to fail to notify the <br /> police/fire department dispatch center prior to any <br /> test, installation, repair, modification, addition, <br /> or maintenance of any fire alarm or fire <br /> extinguishing system which could result in the <br /> transmission of a false alarm. <br /> <br /> B. The fire department may charge fees that <br /> reasonably constitute the cost of response to false <br /> alarms when it is determined that the report is <br /> malicious, or resulting from the failure to <br /> maintain a fire protection alarm system. In the <br /> event of responses to automatic fire alarm systems, <br /> the responsible party will be billed for the <br /> response upon the third incident in any twelve <br /> (12) month period. <br /> <br /> 20.24.045 Bureau of Fire Prevention - Established - <br /> Duties. <br /> <br /> A. The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the <br /> Bureau of Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of <br /> the City, which is established and which shall be <br /> operated under the supervision of the Chief of the <br /> Fire Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
