Ordinance No. 1669 <br />Page 17 <br /> <br /> 20.24,060 Section 1007.2.1.3 added - Fire Alarm <br /> Company Permit and Qualifications <br /> <br /> Section 1007.2.1.3 is added to the adopted Uniform <br /> Fire Code to read as follows: <br /> <br /> A. No person(s) may install or service any fire <br /> alarm system or automatic fire extinguishing system <br /> unless such person has received a permit to conduct <br /> such activity under the provisions of this section. <br /> <br /> B. To receive a permit, each person(s) must <br /> submit an application and permit fee to the Fire <br /> Prevention Bureau. The permit shall be issued when <br /> the Bureau determines that: <br /> <br /> (1) The applicant has proper equipment and is <br /> sufficiently qualified to perform installation <br /> and servicing of fire alarm systems. <br /> <br /> (2) The applicant meets the nationally <br /> recognized standards established by the National <br /> Fire Protection Association in code sections 71 <br /> and 72 A-2, and the State Fire Marshal for the <br /> installation and maintenance of central station <br /> supervisory services. The Fire Prevention Bureau <br /> may grant exemptions from such requirements where <br /> it determines that an exemption is necessary to <br /> protect public health, safety and welfare. <br /> <br /> C. Every permit issued in accordance with these <br /> provisions shall be valid for a period of one (1) <br /> year from the date of issuance. <br /> <br /> D. Applications for renewal of permit shall be <br /> filed in the same manner as for an original <br /> application for permit. Each application shall be <br /> accompanied by a renewal fee. <br /> <br /> E. The Chief shall have the authority to suspend <br /> or revoke a permit where there is evidence of <br /> incompetence, willful or negligent fraud or failure <br /> to perform properly and effectively the duties <br /> assumed by the person(s) issued the permit. <br /> <br /> 20.24,070 Section 1007.3.1 amended - Fire Alarm <br /> System Desiqns Standards <br /> <br /> Section 1007.3.1 of the adopted Uniform Fire Code <br /> is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
