There were no members of the audience who wished to <br />address the Commission. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny noted he would be in support of approving the application. <br /> <br />Chairperson Kumaran noted the importance of a learning center in the community that would enhance <br />children's education. Taylor <br />Application for a conditional use permit to allow firearm sales on an appointment-only <br />basis and sales of miscellaneous police equipment located at 6920 Koll Center Parkway, <br />Suite 22. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - I/C~O <br />(Industrial/Commercial-Office) District. <br /> <br />Ms. Eisenwinter referenced a staff report dated July 28, 1999, and highlighted key areas contained in the <br />report including background information, firearms ordinance, site description, project description, <br />delivery to customer and display area, security and safety, and public notice. In conclusion, she noted <br />that staffs recommendation is that the Commission make a finding that the proposed use, as <br />conditioned, is similar to other allowed uses in Bernal Corporate Park such as small-scale wholesale <br />establishments and small-scale establishments in which the goods are sold to the ultimate consumer and <br />are made to the customer's specifications; make the required use permit findings for approval; and adopt <br />a resolution which would approve Case UP-99-18, subject to the conditions in Exhibit "B." <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to the transport of guns by the applicant and the possibility of a safe being <br />placed on site to eliminate the transport of firearms by the applicant. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Page 3 July 28, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
