MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE <br />pLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON TH ~; <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />Lorelei Tolvtvar, 1993 Greenwood Road, expressed concern with the elimination of open space and <br />wildlife by approving development of the San Francisco Bernal property, as referenced in her <br />memorandum dated June 9, 1999. <br /> <br />Gary Fletcher, 4042 Muirwood Drive, commented on the voters voting for "No on Measure P" and the <br />amount of money spent on the caJnpaign. Further, he commented on the current problems with traffic <br />and school overcrowding issues and requested that problems be addressed before any further <br />development is approved. <br /> <br />Carole Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, commented on the residents' views on Measure P and noted that the <br />"Preserve our Pleasanton" group is concerned with the development and the quality of life for residents. <br /> <br />Brian Arkin, 3740 Newton Way, noted he was a supporter of "No on Measure P" and stated that <br />development should not lower the quality of life for existing residents in Pleasanton. He expressed <br />concern with the City's levels of traffic and overcrowding at schools and stated that developers should <br />mitigate their impacts on the quality of life for residents. <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />SP-95-02, PUD-96-06, San Francisco Water Department Bernal Property <br />The San Francisco Water Department Bernal Property is an approximately 510-acre site <br />consisting of three basic land units: a 202-acre Western Parcel between Interstate 680 <br />(I-680) and the Arroyo de la Laguna south of Bernal Avenue; a triangular-shaped Central <br />Parcel of approximately 245 acres bounded by 1-680 on the southwest, Bernal Avenue on <br />the north, and by thc Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of- way on the southwest; and <br />an Eastern Parcel of about 63 acres between the UPRR and the Alameda County <br />Transportation Corridor (formerly the South Pacific Railroad right-of-way) south of <br />Junipero Avenue. <br /> <br />The project is comprised of a number of land use approvals which together make up the <br />project, as follows: <br /> <br />PLANN1NG COMMISSION MINUTES Page 2 June 9, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
