He noted that the potential <br />channel widening by Zone 7 also affected the earlier San Francisco proposal. He stated that this <br />design would provide opportunity for nine additional holes to be located on the Central Parcel. <br /> <br />Mr. Costanzo presented the revised site plan for the apartments. He noted that the revisions <br />reflect earlier concerns expressed by the Commission. In response to a question from <br />Commissioner Maas, Mr. Costanzo advised that a pool is not included in the plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Mark Lazzarini of James Guthrie & Associates Architects noted that a pool could be an <br />option. He advised that the entire amenity package needs further review. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin asked if decisions regarding outdoor lighting, walkways, and color mix <br />could be determined at a later time. Mr. Swif~ advised that a landscape plan could be completed <br />later. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Flack of James Guthrie & Associates Architects, noted that staff's comments were <br />received aRer the exhibits were prepared and are not reflected in the drawings. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas asked what the structure closest to Valley Avenue was. Mr. Flack <br />responded that this is a carport structure. He noted that it could be relocated. Commissioner <br />Maas stated that she feels it is important to provide adequate landscaping along Valley Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Costanzo reported that it is the applicant's intent to provide color boards and additional <br />requested information for the Planning Commission's review prior to making their decision on <br />August 9. <br /> <br />Mr. Cosmnzo presented the landscaping plan for the Village Commons area. Commission Maas <br />stated that she would like to see a water feature through the common area into the apartment <br />area. Mr. Costanzo responded that one of the issues with a water feature is that the City does not <br />want to take on the ownership of it. Mr. Swift stated that the City doesn't normally want to take <br />on the responsibility for areas such as this, as they are costly to maintain. <br /> <br />It was noted that the Park and Recreation Commission will be reviewing this plan on Monday. <br /> <br />Dan Rosenhaum of South Bay Development, the commercial developer, presented the <br />modifications that have been made in response to issues raised by the Planning Commission and <br />staff. <br /> <br />Terry Lofrano of MBH Architects, presented the color and material board, and reviewed the <br />revisions to the architectural details of the buildings. He described the "stepping back" <br />treatment of the fourth floor and the building entrances.
