]~AP-08 fCase PADR-251/PV43] Mike and .Jane Carev <br />(Appellants: Ray Oes~eich) <br />Appeal of the Zoning AdminisUator's approval of an application for a variance and <br />design review approval for a 22-foot high, 59g-square-foot detached garage with an <br />approximately 368-square-foot second floor, located in the rear yard of the residence at <br />383 Division Street. Zonln~ for the property is R-1-6500 (Single-Family Residential) <br />District. <br /> <br />Mr. Pluoker noted that the appellant has requested that this hearing be continued to the June 28, <br />2000 Commission meeting and noted that the City's policy has been to grant one continuance of <br />the public bearing. Mr. Plucker suggested that the Commission open the public hearing, take <br />public testimony, and continue the hearing to June 28, 2000. Commissioner Maas expressed <br />concern with continuing this hearing and disclosed she has met with the applicant. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Michael Carey, applicant, noted he has been working with staffto develop the best project for <br />the site and the neighborhood. He noted that the appellant is approximately five to six lots away <br />from the proposed project. Mr. Carey noted that he has received a letter in support of the project <br />from Mike Madden who owns the property where the appellant resides. He directed the <br />Commission's attention to the letters received from neighbors who are in support of the project. <br /> <br />Catherine Kraus, 411 Division Street, spoke in support of the project as referenced in her letter <br />dated April 25, 2000. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to the process for continuation of the heating. <br /> <br />A motioa was made by Chairperson Roberts, seconded by Commissioner Sullivan, that <br />I~m No. 6.b., PAP-08 (Case PADR-251/PV-03) be continued to the June 28, 2000 <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Arkin, Maas, Sullivan and Chairperson Roberts <br />None <br />Commissioners Kameny and Malmrose <br />None <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES June 14, 2000 Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
