<br />A motion was made by Commissioner Maas, seconded by Commissioner Kameny, to <br />/"'" approve Case PUD-98-07 subject to the conditions shown in Exhibit B; additionally, that <br />the loop trail be made public and that the facility issue identification cards to interested <br />residents; that the concept of an employee-based campus/daycare facility and <br />campus/corporate-based living facility be strongly studied and considered by the City <br />Council; that the Housing Commission present formal findings with its recommendations <br />to the City Council; that the development be phased, to allow concerns, especially traffic, to <br />be addressed and mitigated; that there be perimeter landscaping, with care and emphasis <br />on the Sunol Boulevard visual side; that trees be planted at the time of project approval so <br />the 24-inch trees would have a headstart in the overall landscaping effect and to assist <br />residents with the visual and noise issues during construction; that roadway improvements <br />be completed in one phase; and that computer-generated visuals from Interstate 680 be <br />provided for the City Council's perusal. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Kameny and Maas <br />Chairperson Roberts and Commissioners Arkin and Sullivan <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />The motion failed on a three.to-two vote. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan moved that Case PUD-98-07 be denied and that it be forwarded on to the <br />City Council with the recommendation it explore alternative land uses, including affordable <br />housin&, and at the COWlcil's discretion return the application to the Planning Commission or <br />Housing Commission. <br /> <br />,-..., <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to clarification of the motion. Commissioner Sullivan noted he <br />would include Commissioner Maas' modifications in the motion.
