7.5(3) Sick Leave Conversion <br /> In lieu of the PERS "Credit for Unused Sick Leave Option," employees may, during <br /> their final year of service prior to retirement from the City, convert their unused sick <br /> leave to additional years of service in the computation of their Section 6.2 Retiree <br /> Medical Benefit. For each hour converted, the employee shall receive one half (1/2) <br /> hour of additional service time. <br /> 7.6 Administrative Leave <br /> In recognition that management employees are required to work hours beyond their <br /> regular hours of work to fulfill their management responsibilities, each management <br /> employee shall be credited with seven (7) days of administrative leave per year. The <br /> City Manager may grant up to three (3) additional administrative leave days per year in <br /> instances in which a management employee was required to devote substantially <br /> more time during the previous year to fulfill his /her duties than was anticipated <br /> normally. Middle management employees may be granted up to three (3) additional <br /> administrative leave days only upon the recommendation of the employee's <br /> department head. <br /> The seven (7) days of administrative leave will be credited to each management <br /> employee during the first pay period in January 2001 and during the first pay period in <br /> January of each succeeding year. <br /> Managers may choose to be paid for one -half of their unused administrative leave on <br /> the first pay day in May and for all of their unused administrative leave on the first pay <br /> day in November. All managers with unused administrative leave as of December <br /> 31st will be paid for said leave during the first pay period in January of the succeeding <br /> year. <br /> 7.7 Leaves of Absence <br /> 7.7(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pay <br /> The City Manager may grant a management or confidential employee leave of <br /> absence without pay or seniority not to exceed three (3) months. No such leave shall <br /> be granted except in writing and upon written request of the employee setting forth the <br /> Page 13 of 30 <br />
