removed, a bond for their replacement landscaping must be posted, and replacement landscaping must be complete within twelve (12) months of their removal, and v) certain median trees and trees on the northern frontage of Bemal Avenue as necessary for planned access into and from the Project 9. Property Owner shall phase removal of such trees consistent with intersection improvements as needed. General Landscape Requirements. The Preliminary Street Tree Plan, Exhibit 16, Landscape Buffer (Soundberm) Plan (Exhibit 17), and individual project landscape plans shall be revised to incorporate the following changes. Revised landscape plans shall be submitted for review and approval by the Planning Director prior to approval of the first final map for the Project. The Landscape Plan shall include a landscaping program for the south (Projec0 side of Bemal Avenue that is consistent with and complimentary to the syeamure tree-lined streetscape on the north side and in the median of Bemal Avenue. The landscape program shall: i) be consistent with the Community Character Element of the Pleasanton General Plan, ii) provide for a tree-planting program for those trees removed in or along Bemal Avenue, utilizing tree species complementary to the sycamore trees presently lining Bemal Avenue, and iii) provide for bicycle paths and sidewalks along Bemal Avenue. b) The Landscape Plan shall include a consistent and comprehensive streetscape landscaping program for all major public streets and parking lots within the Program. Streetscape design shall correspond to and enhance the hierarchy of street types; identify key Program entt~ points; provide a pedestrian, human scale to the street environment; provide for pedestrian safety; provide shading for streets; and provide shade and landscaping in parking lots. The streetscape landscaping program shall include the following major components: i) For Valley Avenue from Bemal Avenue to the Village Commons, landscaping shall be installed within the median, and in tree wells located within the building setback from the edge of the street. ii) Each major Project enla3, point along Bemal Avenue shall have a distinctively landscaped entry feature. c) Plant materials shall be used to establish a hierarchy of streets; to identify key entries, and focal points; and to screen unsightly uses or noise sources.
