Me~ure FAb. Project sponsor shall provide convenient and safe routes for school <br />children throughout the project area to both the elemental/school site and the PUSD <br />Middle School as the project develops: <br /> <br />~: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the <br />project which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect <br />identified in the Final EIR to a less than significant level. The lead agency lacks <br />jurisdiction to make the changes, but the PUSD has this authority. <br /> <br />Fac~ in Suoport of Finding,: The impact will be avoided or reduced based on the <br />following: <br /> <br /> a. The PUSD has purchased, and has commenced conslruction of an <br />elementary school on an I 1.2 acres site on Case Avenue. The PUSD has designed the <br />circulation plan to avoid queuing on Case Avenue, to prohibit parking along Case <br />Avmme adjacent to the school and has agreed to stagger school start times. <br /> b. PUD Condition requires the provision of safe routes for school children <br /> throughout the Project to both the elementary school site and the existing middle <br /> school. This includes sidewalks, Class I bikeways, on-street bike lanes, and frails <br /> which provide access to both school sites. PUD Condition _ requires for each phase <br /> of the Project sufficient infrastructure to meet this requirement. <br /> <br />F. Public Services: Fire Protection <br /> <br />1. a~_l. Potential development beyond five-minute fire department response <br />time area from existing fire stations. <br /> <br />Mezsure Gla. The City will monitor the pace of development on the Specific Plan site <br />and either construct the fire station in a timely manner with respect to the project <br />construction or implement interim provisions to meet fire safety needs consistent with <br />City policy. <br />Measure Glb. Require that all residences or other buildings outside the five-minute <br />response time area be equipped with fire sprinklers. <br />Fi~i~: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the <br />Project which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect <br />identified in the Final EIR to a less than significant level. <br />Faots in Support of Findine: The impact will be avoided or reducedbased on the <br />following: <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br /> <br />
